I picked up a 71 satellite sebring car for parts and the original 383 engine and 727 transmission were in a garage covered up. I brought them home and never noticed the aluminum intake by mopar. Anyone out there know if these were junk or is it worth keeping? Thanks....

Coinsidering it has a block off plate for smog crap.Id say no...Looks like an ebay item to me!!!!
Petty Blue 67 gtx

yep

Looks to me that that block off plate is for a missing choke stove unit.

:iamwithstupid: I was thinking the same thing... Usually a EGR mounting area is at an angle instead of flat like that is...

thats a plate for the choke well. they're aluminum copies of a stock '70 intake. mopar performance item.

Thanks guys. Can anyone tell me if it is a rare piece, nice piece or scrap? I looked on EBAY to find one like it but no luck.

Be a nice piece hanging on your garage wall if you don't want to use it. Try Google with the numbers on it, maybe you'll find something that will help. Send a pic to this guy, he may be able to tell you something, he buys, sells Mopar parts, or has, been awhile since ive talked with him... You can call or email..

its not rare but not scrap. there are people who look for them for stock type rebuilds.

My 440 Bel ran 13.30 @ 109 with one of those so no complaints from me.

I think one just went on ebay for $65 plus shipping.

IIRC, that intake is modeled after the ones that came on the Magnum engines etc which were not a bad intake and work decent on a mild performance engine....and weigh a lot less than a stocker.

That's exactly how I see it.
