I had a know it all email me to tell me that I was incorrect in referring to my Dodge max wedge as a Super Stock Dodge. He educated me that it was only the Plymouth called that. It was in my reference to the "Little Old Lady from Pasadena", in her Super Stock Dodge. I told him that both Plymouth and Dodge max wedges at the track ran in Super Stock, hence the name. His icing on the cake was that I and the Beach Boys had it wrong. I politely informed him that it was Jan and Dean that sang the song, not the Beach Boys! I'll bet he wasn't even born yet, and he sure as heck doesn't own a real Max Wedge, Dodge or Plymouth.:violent-smiley-100:

I get those emails a lot.. Like the last fellow that emailed me thought he'd educate me about the Superbird.. telling me that it wasn't called a "Superbird" it was called a Roadrunner... I just replied with "No, Really!? I had no idea... Idiot" Lol

I get an occassional one but it is OK as most of the time it is someone that is trying to help. However it is usually someone that you typically find is quoting from some book they have seen with incorrect info in it. It gives me the opportunity to correct what they believe to be correct buy putting them in touch with the REAL truth with some type of factory based information. There are many urban myths, rumors and incorrect information in the hobby and anytime we have an opportunity to help someone learn the facts it is a good thing.

I try to be polite with things like that, sometimes its hard to do for the fact that they did this and that and hence "Trust me, I know what im talking about" A simple okay, have a good day is sufficient for me.

I should have been more specific and give some credit. The Beach Boys did sing the song on a #1 album. Brian Wilson worked with Jan Berry on many hit songs, but it was Jan Berry that wrote the song and it was Jan and Dean that first performed it, when it reached #3 on Billboard.

I did tell him to have a nice day, and his most recent email said I should sell my car to a "real Moparman" to enjoy because I have other muscle cars also. I asked him if he wanted to write me a check?
