Ok guys, tell me the year, make, model, trans etc...everything you can about this car. Tell me what you are looking at and what you are looking for. Put your thinking caps on.

hemimotor.jpg

1970 Dodge Charger - latch tray forward of the radiator support
426 Hemi - obvious
4-speed Manual Trans - clutch linkage boot and rod on firewall
R6 Paint - guess on the paint code - probably incorrect
3 Speed Wipers - wiper motor
Power Disc Brakes - power brake booster and the disc master cylinder
Power Steering - as far as i know it is mandatory on hemi cars
Tic-Toc-Tach - isolated firewall grommet upper right of the main bulkhead connector

EDIT - id the paint E-5 ?

7 out of 8. now...talk your way through it. How did you deduce it ?

No, if it was a 69, you would see lines for the vacuum headlite doors and a chrome round air cleaner as well as the older style voltage regulator.

Assuming the breather is correct, that makes it a 70 or 71. But it's not a 71. It's a B body, cause an E would have the plastic vent grills on the cowl. Rod for clutch pedal sticking through the firewall. R4 RED, not R6 Scorch red. Wiper motor...easy. Power disc brakes again easy. No power drums available I don't think. Power steering line just visible at the corner of the battery tray. Cone shaped rubber grommet in firewall between the bulkhead and booster for the tac wire.

see original post - made comments and another guess on paint

Oops....R4 wasn't available in 70. So it would have to be FE5.

but it LOOKS like R4

Good detective work. Hemi is obvious, clutch linkage is visable. Power brakes and power steering are visable. Tach wire lead was a good catch (didn't think you'd see that), from the air cleaner and the voltage regulator you can tell it is post 1969. Fenderwells show it to be a B body. So, we have a '70 B body, non fresh air car (rules out Coronet, Superbee, GTX, RR). If you saw the wires under the hood for the hood mounted turn signals, that rules out Superbird. That leaves the only possibility : 1970 Charger R/T in FE5. OK...Who's got the next one ?

Ok...C body, LA engine which means 66 and up. Early regulator means 69 and down...so we have a C body between 66 and 69. 318 2V, auto, PS, PB, 2 speed wipers, divided cowl vents...my guess 1967 New Yorker.

Looks kinda like a '68 newport with the location of the starter solenoid, but newports only came with bb. So I am thinking '68 furry III

No, power steering was never manditory on a Hemi car.

Good detective work by many on this test.

You are right 696pack, power steering was not manditory on a hemicar.

Well the answer to the second picture is a 1968 plymouth Fury III with a 318

My Guess on the 2nd Pix Is that it is a 1967 Dodge D100 Truck. It Has the Rod Style Hood Springs,Removable Cowl over the Wipers,The Air Cleaner is Round snorkel making it Pre-68,And It has the Large Voltage Regulator Making it Pre 70 and High Output,Removable Inner-Fenderwells,22' Round Top Radiator,Flat Low Slung Aluminum Grille,And Don't Forget the NICE Choice of Battery Connector End Replacement from Walmart to Finish ANY Concourse Restore.......

Also It Is An Automatic with 727 Trans(Kick Down For That Present on Carb). It Has A Cast Iron WaterPump(Pre-70)and the Upper Radiator Hose is in the Center of the Rad...B3 Blue..

D 100??????????????
