who has had these and anyone have a preference for a good street tire RWL?

I too am torn between these two brands. I'm still ticked Goodyear decided to abandon muscle cars, I actually just wrote them a very spirited email expressing my displeasure. I'm leaning towards bfgs, like the lettering better.

my satty has DOT's and they are in need of replacement...I have 215 70 15's up front and 275 60 15 out back..would like to go a bit wider, just not sure if I can..I think the only size up would be 295 50?

I've been using BFG's for well over 30 years, and can't think of even once I've had a problem or complaint about them, other than a puncture or something. During that time, I've also had stock tires that came on the car when I bought it, other brands from trades, etc, but the only tire I bought other than the BFG's was a set of 721 radials for a van, and a set of Hoosiers just to see what they were like.

IF you can find them at a decent price, I'd put my name behind a set of Radial TA's any day.

Well.... maybe one complaint, you sure cannot just burn them off like you could a set of the belted bias Dunlops back in the day :) Traction's just too good comparatively

i sell both tires in my store, and numbers wise they are almost identical.i have used both as well with no noticable differences.i think it just comes down to looks vs price for you, either will be a good choice.

tirerack is showing backorder on the fronts..i am going a bit wider to 225's on the BFG's

I asked around and ended up going with Cooper Cobras over BFG... I've been very happy with them.

I have the BFG's, 235/60-15 front and 255/60-15 rear. So far so good. I had the Cooper Cobras before. They were ok too. I miss my Eagle ST's from the 80's. Very similar look to the BFG's but the tread was less "blocky".

I love the STs. I have 255 STs on the rear and I need new fronts, but goodyear makes nothing for our cars anymore. tpodwdog here on the forum is selling me two 215/65/15 Eagle STs, but I'm worried theyll be too small for my liking coming from 235/60s up front. If they are too small im going to BFGs. Thoughts?

never been a fan of the coopers or the goodyears.here in the desert they dry out really fast and get super hard.

My bro on his 73 charger had his ralleys off set a bit and tucked a 305/50 in his fender no mods. I have a 295/50 on my 72 sat no fitment issues on 15x8, I'm running bfgs.

BFGs do get SUPER HARD.
Here is what happens when you have BFGs and need to slam on the brakes.

I really wish I could get the polyglas GTs in a radial, I still have goodyear STs and would love to buy a new set of them but that will never happen.

I just put Firehawk 500s on all four corners..love the look of them. Everyone is running T/As...nice to be different *g*
I was told as well that the Firehawk indy 500 line are going to be scraped in 2012.

new shoes

ouch !:angry1:

I know, when I was looking for rubber I had a few brands in mind and everyone I really wanted had been scraped...so the Firehawk was the only one left on the list.
I am very happy with them, a buddy with a 12 sec Grand National said they hook up really well at the track to boot.
