I don,t know if this is the right place to post this or not but i need some advice. I'm going to look at a 68 charger this weekend from what i can tell from pics it is solid and pretty straight, no motor or trans, has good grill, bumpers ,tail lights, rear seat, door panels, new gas tank and sending unit, new windsheild and gasket, and boxes full of parts that i was not given details on. just from this desciption what would be a good starting point price wise? any help would be great thanks.

What is he asking. I find it hard to believe he is letting you name the price. Do you have to paint it? Engine,Tranny, paint, etc. could run up a bill.

he's asking 6500.00 and yes it needs to be painted i just wanted to know if thats too high or what. i have motor and trans and parts car

He is probably right were he wants to be as long as you dont need to buy lots of panels because there really is not much to the car except the extras you list. Might be $800.00 high. Boy times have changed. 12 years ago I bought mine for that with matching #'s. and drove it for a year.

i was going to offer 5000.00 to 5500.00 depending on what all he has with it i just wanted someone elses opinion. thanks

If it is fairly solid maybe needing only a trunk pan and lower quarter work, I don't think it is that bad of price. Offer him less and see what happens. I have been looking for 1.5 years for a project car. It seems the people with 68-69 Chargers & Bees aren't willing to let go of their projects go for low prices. I just pulled the trigger and bought a 69 Charger, big block, 4-speed console, disc brake, tic-toc-tac, A/C car. Major project, but fairly rare with these options. I paid a little less than the one you are looking at. I do think the prices are about as low as they are going to get.

if it's as good as he says it is i shouldn't have to buy any sheet metal but you never know till you look. thanks guys
