Here is a pic of the reverse light switch assembly on my 68 Charger. The switch is in place, but it looks like there is a rod or knob or something missing on the steering column that is supposed to stick out and push the button as the gears are selected.

Can someone please take a quick pic of what this looks like on their car so I know what sort of knob, or whatever, is supposed to be there?

I may have to make something, but would sure be nice to see what it is supposed to look like.

Thanks.

I can't get my picture to upload but I got a nice one for sale. super clean from a 36,000 mile car, works and tested.

You are missing the pin that's glued into the column that moves the reverse switch.

Bet there is a piece of plastic still stuck in the column shaft....remove that and find a roll pin that fits tight

Yeh, something like that A383Wing. But I don't know what it is supposed to look like because it has never been there since I have owned the car.

Is it just a plastic pin that sticks straight out from that hole?

What is a roll pin?

Thanks.

you are missing the rubber bushing that goes on the red peg too.

Hmmmmm... thanks, this is getting more interesting. Hopefully someone can take a quick snap shot of what this all looks like down there so I can see all of the parts that I still need.

Yes, it's just a plastic pin that is glued into the column and sticks out to move the red part on your switch. Roll pin is basically the same thing but it's steel...any local hardware store will have them.

None of my column switches ever had the bushing, was just the red peg sticking out for the pin to push on
