Hello All,
just found this site a few days ago, it's a great source of information!
Here are some pics of my 69 GTX. I bought it from my Great Uncle in 2001, and have put about 100 miles on it since. I'm pretty sure he only put a couple hundred miles on it since he bought it in the early 90's. It was restored before he bought it, and he didn't really have a lot of details on the car, so I was a little worried that it wasn't even a real GTX. Thanks to this site I found some links and decoded the VIN and it is real.

Unfortunately no Fender Tag. I will look for the build sheets in the common locations the next time I am home - another good find on this site. If they aren't there - I may never know the true build condition. BUT - here is what I gather so far:
- GTX
- 440/727
- swapped in 8 3/4 from 'Super Bee' (from Great Uncle's guess)
- Red paint is not original - looks like Yellow under weatherstripping/etc
- Black interior is not original or has been dyed - looks like Green on the metal under dash pad.
- Manual steering, manual drum brakes, no AC.

Welcome to FBBO Troy! That is one nice looking car. Your car has me gearing up into super sleuth mode. ;) Before I ask any questions, I am going to *** out the last 6 digits of your VIN. I just don't like seeing those posted on the net. As for your license plate #, I will let you decide if you want hose to remain or blur/black them out.

Anyway, have you checked the #s from your VIN against the radiator support, trunk area, etc.? The manual stering and manual drum brakes have me questioning a few things as well. Do you have any pics of the interior? Do you have a 150mph or 120mph speedo? Can you take a pic of it?

Thanks! The plate expired years ago and won't be used again - should be no problem right?

For checking stuff - i'll be able to do this in May, when I return home. I will take lots of pics then and am glad to get a list started already. :)
- rad support # stamp (& width 22" vs. 26")
- trunk are # stamp
- Build sheet locations
- Speedo pics
- steering/brake pics
- Radio pics
- interior pics (seats/console/dash)

Any other details that I should look for? Sorry for so many q's - I have always been a Jeep/Chevy guy, but would love to know more about my car! I plan on keeping it for plenty of years btw - it was part of the deal with my uncle.

I work in Germany - my eyesite doesn't reach that far - nor my camera. :tongueflap:

What part of Germany? We have a few really nice members here (from Gifhorn) who have come to visit me in CA. Also, I worked in Stuttgart for a year (many moons ago).

Nice! I'm working in Bonn, it's in the west of Germany. Actually, I go to Stuttgart (Feuerbach) quite often to visit Bosch.
