I own a 72 Sat and always loved the flush mounted side marker lights that were used on the 71 RR, Satellite and GTXs with the bezel that gave the appearance of three lights mounted side by side. Anyone know what it would take to put the flush mounted 71 marker lights on a 72? Is the fender cutout a different size, or can I get a set of 71 markers and bezels and put 'em in my 72 fenders and qp's. The flush mount just looks so much better to me than the lights that protrude about 1/4 inch from the side of that beautiful fuselage body.

You will have to cut the openings to put those in.. and add a flange area for them to sit flush. It can be done but not without body work. I'm sure others have done this before.
I like the 71 look much better myself on my 72 charger. Wish I could add them too.

Godspeed,
JON

doing it now to a 72 charger not to hard but im doing q-panel work and paint so ...

Pix?

Post some before and after pix if you can. Nothing most guys love more than working on cars- unless it's watching someone else work on theirs!

Yeah, I figured I would have to create a flange below the fender level in order for the bezel to sit flush. Unfortunately, that is work I can't do myself. I like the different taillights used on different models of 72 Chargers too. I think the rallye taillights are my favorites.

The PO filled in the sidemarker lights dont like that look

I guess removing the lights and filling them in is one way to go, but I'm with you on this. The marker lights belong on the car- they just need a more finished look than the tacked on as an afterthought look they gave us in 72 and later. Best of luck on your project.

thanks its alot further than that now just havnt downloaded new pics
