Hi all.

I am in the process of putting a 6 pack hood scoop on my coronet. Did the scoop come from the factory bolted on? Does anyone have any pics? I see a lot of cars bonding and glassing the scoop on, which looks nice but what is more original? I kinda like seeing fasteners on the scoop but the fiberglassed style looks cleaner.

thanks

There was no six pack scoop for a 70 Coronet. They just had the standard N96 hood if they had "fresh air" at all

hum ok. I don't like the sound of that, but since my air cleaner sits too high even for a N96 I am going to have to run a big scoop or change a bunch of stuff.

For a car that would have had the big 6 pack scoop would it have been mounted with fasteners?

The only six pack cars that had a "big scoop" were the 69 1/2 cars and (if you want to stretch it a bit) the Challenger T/A hood

factory used fiberglass hoods for the 69.5 six pack cars and the 70 aar and t/a the only bolt on scoops i can remember for a mopar were the 68 and earlier superstock cars.

My car has a steel hood with a fiberglass scoop, i can take some pics of it.

Hey Mike......Long time no see. Hope all is going well on your project buddy. Got to be getting close now! Good Luck!

Agreed,no factory installed six pack scoop or 'glass hood on a '70 'Bee.Dodge had a Scat Pack accessories book(pre DC parts) of performance parts and bolt ons in 1970.They offered a bolt on 'glass six-pack hood for the '70 Coronet.I have only read about and have seen print about the offerings.I was only five years old that year so i didn't get to go car shopping!Anyone have a copy they can scan and show us?

I would like to see a picture of that. Never heard of it or seen one. My guess would be that Mopar certainly had an outside vender make it and if so I find it hard to believe that the mold is not still around and that SOMEWHERE one would show up if it ever got made. It may have been one of those things that they advertised but never sold.

You are right about that, the part may have never really existed.I saw a photo of a catalog, not an actual catalog. The cover had a shot of a '70 coronet 6-pack hood, not sure if it was on a car or just a hood at this point.Either way it's pretty easy to spot a '70 hood!I'll look.it may be in one of my personal books.
