Nice car.

Depends on what your goals are on the car I guess when it comes to the undercoating.
Personally I left mine on and plan to leave it alone after it gets painted. I hear it can be pain removing unless you are considering sandblasting the car, then it probably would be a good to do it as well??

Thanks, yes I do plan on having it sandblasted. Just the engine compartment, trunk area, interior area and possibly the underneath. Being as it will never see winters anymore I'm thinking blast it and paint it body color

You did say solid, I think you made a great choice, please keep us updated, this is going to be cool!!! Good choice and good luck with bringing her back to life, If your going to sand blast it, i really would go all out, JMO but think thats the way i would go for sure...

Sweet car. I really like the big block, 4 speed sattys. I had a 71 383 and a 72 400 back in the day. It sure helped with insurance back then. Good luck with it!

Looks like it has the 8 3/4 rear end in it.. I wouldn't mind having that car myself, being a 4 speed car i would have a home for my 4-speed... I think if you payed what you quoted or less you did really good and i do think its worth the restore and would be desirable if you sold it! The shape this is in i have to ask, Is it a Ohio car? You living in Ohio im sure you know why i ask...

Looks like a great project. Little rust issues. All ready has all the goodies. Drop in a 440 and you have a real easy RR/GTX clone other than you'd need a Dana being a 3 pedal car. .

Im sure the 8.75 will hold up just fine. This car is rare enough to restore as close to original as possible. I would go with a 72 400. If you need more balls from that just stroke it.

I not 100% but one picture I seen before buying had California plates. As latest it was bought from Edinboro Pa. I do plan on doing it right just not sure on color combo metallic gold exterior and gold interior. Never was a gold guy but as i look at the car the gold does not look to bad no offense intended.

If anyone has a metallic gold car please post it up here help me decide

Great find, I bought a 72 Satellite plus 4 years ago had just 71,000 miles on it with 1 repaint. It's Tawny Gold with a silver bottom and a white canopy top and white interior. At first I wasn't crazy about the color but now I love it. It was a 400 auto, I've stroked it to 451 from 440 source and had the tranny built to handle it. I love it when I stomp it at 20 mph and the rear end breaks loose and chirps em into 2nd. The biggest problem is wheel spin from the start and I've got 275 T/A's on the back. Good luck on the rebuild. I haven't posted pics cause I dont know how. As soon as I can I will . TAKE CARE HOWARD!

Edinboro, Not to far from me.. looks familiar i may know the guy you got it from, he told me he sold it awhile back but he could have and someone else got it and sold to you.. It had i think a 440 with the freeze plugs out but it did have the 4 speed with a pistol grip in the car, if this is the one im thinking of. I probably deleted the pictures but i had a bunch on my other computer he sent me when he got it. if i remember right. any of this sound familiar? It to i was told came from Cal... Good score regardless and as far as color and what you want to do with it, If its to keep, Do it the way you want it or you wont be happy, If its to make some money i would keep as original as possible. Good luck.

Ron I bought here in Cleveland owner name in pa was jorl first name it was on irish rd

Yes sir, i know him.. Good deal! I thought it looked familiar lol... I almost got it myself when he first got it (No funds).. Please keep us posted in it looking forward to watching your build, if your putting it hear...

My car has undercoating on it as well. I'm gonna remove it all and paint it. I think I'll leave the undercoating off. I mught put some under the tank, and a few areas in the wheel well, something like a factory look. The undercoating has saved it from rust over the years. I need to learn how to resize pictures and post them on here.

As far as sizing pictures i searched uploading pictures here on this site main search and someone gave a link to down load that re sizes pics. Yes Ron I do plan on keeppng it up on here I'll take pictures as i go thanks for the interest
