Are 440 Exauhst bolts all to the same length?

I am repairing the head on my 1968 440 heads, It has exhaust bolts that are all the same except the one in the front by the fan. All are about 3/4" sticking out of the head and the one farthest foreward on the end is almost twice as long. is this correct? It's the same on both sides. One is incorrect I know because it's on an angle and a coarse thread.

Far as I know, all the studs are the same length. And are square to the gasket flange.

As you look at the head, the one to the left is a longer stud. On the 68 440 I am building, one head was this was way. I think it might go on the passenger side rear, because the manifold uses a long stud/nut there.

69Bee,
I have the same treatment on the heads I'm working on except in reverse. Weird. I'll try and see if I can find out what the deal is with these. I'm putting new studs in and I want it too look and function factory correct. SO that I can slide the manifold on and off easily.

On my 69 RR 440 all the head studs are the same length. And I am also using stock ex manifolds. Some one prob changed yours in the past.

Does anyone have any documentation?

I keep looking and can't find any ducumentation about these head bolts to see if thier all supposed to be the same length or if for some reason there is supposed to be a longer one on the end.

Single long stud on the driver side.

As you look at the head, the one to the left is a longer stud. On the 68 440 I am building, one head was this was way. I think it might go on the passenger side rear, because the manifold uses a long stud/nut there.

Thanks for the info, I have talked to a few others and they have the same condition and they say that it was for an AC bracket.
