I think you just take your pan off, unbolt the rear main cap. With the crank in, I think you have to thread a tool into the old upper seal to pull it out. Then lube up your new one and slip it in

Ya I'm pretty sure its the same. They are all dodge big blocks. Just make sure you insert the new seal the proper way. Not facing the wrong way with the tapered part of the seal

well...replaced the seal-everything back together, and STILL leaking:angryfire:

it has the billet clip in it, so it was replaced once before...and the oil in the pan is very dirty (even though i replaced it 200 miles ago)..it also has a shine to it (bearings)?

Snap a few photos maybe, that doesn't sound good. A shine too it? like metal flakes? I don't know what to say about the leaky seal. Is it leaking around the aluminum retainer or in the seal itself?

damn dude...that suxx. you got less than 9 months to get that car in peak condition...lol

that WASNT my intention:headbang:...sorry bout the spun bearing!
i just realized..the pregnancy. got it..it's been a rough week. landscaper's helper got hurt at my house, and sold my truck..now we have 1 car. Dropping my engine off at the builder tomorrow. hopefully it doesn't cost me more than $3g's.

may have my seal on 360 in backward, with the sharp edge to the inside or taper tward the engine top and bottom is that wrong and what will happen.

i did find that the sharp lip goes to the inside or front of the engine, on the 360 2 peice seal,, it is in the service manual of the truck model. Nont many instructions tell which way to put the seal in. i will use some sealer to stick it in the block, this will make the top seal hard to remove without taking out the engine.
