The first pic is the drivers side the second pic is the passengers side. Is that gap normal on the passengers side lower control arm where the torsion bar goes through? I am going to assume it is not normal.

So after seeing that....how would you expect it to manifest itself on the street?

Thanks in advance.

Looks like , at some time or other, your lower control arm bushing has become so worn out, that its allowed the torsion bar socket to move around and wear that gap......

If you haven't checked lower CA bushings lately, I would now.

Sloppy steering and abnormal tire wear could be 2 symptoms..

I do have urethane bushings in it now...Thinking of just going back to stock rubber for LCA. Think that would bring it back right?

The LCA bushings were in fact shot a couple of years ago when I put the urethane in it.

Did you use their pivot?

Is it wear or is the front web of the LCA bent? What did it look like when you changed over to urethane or did you have a shop do it?

Might want to check their site, I think your supposed to use a different pivot.

I believe that is normal,I just went the same thought process:read:

That is exactly what I was wondering...wear or bent? And I had a shop do it.

A while back idk maybe 6 months ago I had a thread about the car pulling slightly to the right when the brakes were applied. I could never really figure out why. Some suggested the strut bushings but they look OK. What I believe is happening is the LCA is sliding about 1/8 to 1/4 inch on the torsion bar because of that gap or at least that is my theory. Do you think that is sound reasoning or not? Because initial braking has the slight pull but subsequent braking, without acceleration, seems to track straight. If you agree with that...is it safe to assume that LCA is shot and needs replaced?

Whether worn or bent that LCA needs to come out and be assessed, as well as the bushing and pivot.

If bent, it might be able to be repaired..

I'd bet the shop bent it when removing the old bushing. LCA's are still relatively easy to come by, I'd remove and replace.
