Hi,
something I´ve notised driving my -70 rr 4-spd,
When i depress clutch the car kind of "shakes" or vibrates, rocks (cant think of a better word) like something moves..
just quickly, when you engage the clutch..
kinda hard to explain,
Its more obvious in low speeds, high rpms, like 1st gear rewing a bit..
Anyone recognize this, Is this normal, should i worry..?

Might be a worn pilot bushing/bearing. no longer than it takes you should spend a weekend and pull the trans and take a look at everything. something is worn out is my guess. The snout on the bearing retainer might be broken off of the flange. The throw out bearing might be shot or seized which will wear on the fork..... My point? take it apart and look at what you have, it will likely get worse if you ignore it.... Good luck...
 
Could you be referring to clutch chatter? The symptom is a shaking sensation, sometimes violent, just as you hit the friction point and start to take off.
 
could be a combo, throw out bearing, and "messed up" fork due to irregular wear due to a bad T Out bearing.

I´m not to good with trans, what is the pilot bushing?, where do i find it, on the car..

I should say that the car was an automatic, its been converted to 4-spd!

No not really, i think i know what u mean but its more like, before you shift and u press the clutch, just as u loose the friction..something like that
when the clutch pedal reaches the floor..

my rr had the same problem and ended up being the throw out bearing .......

Here's a good exploded view of a typical clutch assembly. From the crank shaft back. Pilot bearing/bushing is pressed into the end of the Crank shaft. My guess is since it was a converted car (auto to standard) either the bushing wasn't installed or it was the wrong one. Your transmission input shaft is probably "wobbling" when you depress the clutch and "free" your friction disk from the flywheel. If that is the problem, and you don't take care of it, you may snap off the snout on your bearing retainer on the transmission. Good Luck

so how do i fix it, i´ve noticed there IS a bearing on the clutch and it looks new, you mean it could be the wrong one?

I doubt your thowout bearing is wrong. That is the one you see, that's the one in the diagram that your clutch fork slips over. you can see that assembly if you take off the inspection plate (clutch housing cover). The bushing i'm talking about is press fit into the end/center of the crank shaft. The transmission input shaft has a machined area on the leading end which slips into this bushing. If the bushing is there and fits correctly, the transmission input shaft is held steady by the bushing in the end of the crank shaft when you disengage the clutch pressure plate by pushing in the clutch peddle. You cannot see this bushing unless you remove the transmission and shine a light into the bell housing and look at the back of your crank shaft. Even then it may be hard to see. The best thing to do is search "transmission input shaft bushing" so you get an idea of what you're looking for or you may need a repair shop to help. Good luck...

yep I did some research,, I know what bushing you mean, seams like a reasonable explanation to my ploblem, only way to know if its worn, (or even there) seems to be removing the trans..
