Hi Mopar Folks!
My bro (another Mopar advocate) found this on Allpar.com. Thought you might like to see it. My Uncle went ashore that day and survived, using his Missouri Ozark hunting skills to avoid German fire.

Today is the 68th anniversary of D-Day. On June 6, 1944, 160,000 soldiers stormed the beaches of northwest France to begin the long push to Berlin. By the end of the day, 2,500 sons, brothers, husbands and fathers were dead and more than 6,000 were wounded. They were among the first of more than 209,000 Allied casualties taken during the Battle of Normandy.
Along with the soldiers came the Jeeps and Dodges in many forms, weapons carriers, command cars and ambulances, built in the Arsenal of Democracy to help the Allies to end Hitler’s “Thousand-Year Reich” centuries ahead of schedule.
Time has taken its toll and only a relative handful of D-Day veterans are still alive. Today is a day to pay our respects to those who remain and those who have left us.

X1000, thanks to all that gave it all for the U.S.of A.

I spoke at an event today and was able to say a short blurb about D-Day. It is a truly monumental turning point of the war and I can't even begin to fathom what those men went through, fighting for every inch of that beachhead. They truly are a great generation.

They are truly The Greatest Generation. My dad and his second oldest brother were in the Marines in the South Pacific, my mother's brother was a guard in Nebraska for Nazi POWs and my wife's only uncle was with the 555th Army Anti Aircraft Group in The Netherlands. The pastor that married my wife and I was in the D-Day invasion as a Navy Corpsman then after V-E Day was shipped to the South Pacific where he was wounded in action. Love 'em all.

Thanks to all the served, are serving and have made the ultimate sacrafice.. I truely do enjoy my freedom for my family, friends and self. I appreciate it everyday and will never forget the courage and sacrafice's of the great men that fought that day to keep freedom the foundation of this country as well as delivering it back to europe. You boys truely were real day hero's, and not only will your stories live on in the history books around the world, but will also live on in the generations beyond.

God Bless the men and women of the "Greatest Generation", and all the men and women who served this country so we can remain free. Thank You!

Great tributes and stories from all across the country!
We also need to recognize the sacrifices of our northern neighbors (among the many other allies) who were involved at other areas on D-Day; hopefully you Mopar Canucks will see this and know we are thinking of your troops as well!
Kinda neat to remember how much the Jeep and Dodge vehicles meant to the war effort.
