My last Muscle Car

My last Muscle Car was number 11 of 11 Road Runners I have been fortunate enough to own. I'm 61 years old now, and because of diabetes, I can no longer enjoy what I used to be able to do. When I knew I wouldn't be driving too much longer, I sold my 1974 Road Runner Coupe. Better to have someone else enjoy it, than to have it sit in the yard and go to pot. I feel kind of sad sometimes when I see all of you being able to build and enjoy the MOPAR Hobby, but, having owned 11 of the best Ma MOPAR had to offer, plus many other great MOPARs, I can reflect and remember the thrill. I now just collect the 1/18 diecasts, and every now and then I peer into the window and remember the ride.

Sorry to hear diabetes did this too you. I am a diabetic also so I will do the same when the time comes. If you have the pictures please post them up we would like to see them.

Thanks for sharing! I thank the good lord every day when I wake up for one more day and a couple times durring the day probably more to remind myself that I have at least one more "crack at it". I've just turned 59 and ever so often I look in the mirror and think WTF happened? Where did it go? I mean there's no way I'm this old. But I am still here! And this time I have to actually finish things and not just say I'll get to it. So...... gotta go work on the Bee!

Sad story but Reading these threads could actually be therapeutic for you. There are many good people here and I kind of think of them as my second family. With all the mopars you have had you probably have a lot of knowledge. Welcome and god bless.

Hey youngsters--greetings from a really old fart!
I'm 73 and was lucky enough to get my latest muscle car (73 RR) 2 years ago on Father's Day. 1st one was 66 Coronet (in 1966).
You 2 Mopar guys hang in there and keep on fightin' that damn Diabetes!

Im truly sorry to hear this terrible disease has progressed to the point you cant drive and work on them like you would like to do. I to am a diabetic with severe neuropathy in my feet and a very large hole in my big toe, i know whats coming someday but i get thru each day like so many and that with prayer and faith.. Someday i hope to have a good attitude with what ill need to deal with and hope that a post like you started will help others who may be borderline take a good look at whats going on and take every precaution for it.. I wish you well and i thank you for sharing an obvious hard story.

I'm also diabetic. I'm trying to do my best to stay in good health, but somedays are better then others.

I really love the car in your pic, it looked like a really nice ride. Welcome to the borad with a lot of great people.

If you see any local guys here, catch a ride with them in one of their cars or set up a meet and greet and talk shop.

I to and one of those that had to get rid of my MOPAR project due to health. I had a stroke at age 29 and there are about three years I dont remember. I was left with muscle problems and in between that time my dads health got bad. He is a diabetic along with many other health problems (Some days he is like a child metally) and we both came to know we couldn't do it anymore.

I'm now back in the hunt for a project and I keep telling myself no matter what I can do, I have the knowledge and my body keeps telling me "No you can't" but I will find a way and if not I will enjoy the hobby from the sidelines for now.

Keep in touch with all of us and post up some pics and tell us some stories of being on the road.

What are the rims? Have I seen those on Corvettes and Camaros more often then anything else?

They were called Vectors, and the caps said AP, which I think was Appliance.

I never noticed until now, you can see the reflection of my '74 Satellite Wagon on the passenger door. lol
