I was working on the chrome trim on my headliner With a cleaner.Had my knee on rear seat... And damn it ....once I heard itops: ..I knew.......:angryfire:Is this fixable? or do I need a new seat cover.....

My dog (100 pound Weimaraner) did that to my wife's Surburban and a local upholstery shop repaired it.

Well.....

I've sure had my share of "Oh $&%T" moments but I think it depends on if the stitching broke (which likely could be repaired or the stitching pulled out of the material in which case take it to a good upholstery shop and let an expert decide.

One cold day, I sat down in the belvedere. Which had new seat covers. Out of habit i carry a clip style knife in my right back pocket. I sat, adjusted myself, and felt something odd. Got out of the car, and noticed 2 nice rips in the aformentioned new seat covers.

I can remember not so fondly jumping into my brand spanking new Ram 3500 QC diesel with Leather interior to go to the auto parts store..............

Only to find out I forgot to take the screwdriver out of my back pocket. Oh S#%t! Poked a nice hole into the leather.
I thought of a way out of my stupidity by maybe blaming the Wife? or the Dog?
But in the end I had to own up to it.

So.....Don't feel too bad, S^#t happens.

That sucks Pops, Ive seen the pictures of your car, very beautiful GTX! It looks like a good upholstery shop would be able to repair it, Ive done the same thing, I forget or forgot that those old stitch's wont take what they once would, mine was just plain my fault though. Good luck to you!

Sure looks like the stitching pulled-easy fix. If it's the vinyl, then maybe can be fixed, but trouble ahead as the rest of the cover is likely to fail also at some point, and you'll be chasing issues until it's replaced.
