OK fellas, here it is. I recently bought this 69 Roadrunner and need some advice. The previous owner modified it for the 1/4 mile, I plan on turning it into a street car that I'll drive occasionally. I'm an Army medic/overseas contractor and my knowledge of muscle cars is about the same as Justin Bieber's knowledge of assault weapons.
I'm going to need a lot of help and advice. Take a look, tell me what you think and what you would do. Hooah.

Here's the interior

Some interior shots. I'm not hell bent on keeping the original dash. I don't mind upgrading and having some modern gauges that actually work. The fuel gauge and odometer are shot.

Looks good, the only thing I'm not fond of is the black engine bay... I would return it back to red.

X2 the engine bay ,freshen it up with a fresh coat of your ext. color:headbang::headbang:

I would also put the decal in the right position on the deck lid but it does look like a Road King!!!! Enjoy and Thank You for your work in regard to this Great Nation!

drive like you stole it , but enjoy the **** out of it :headbang:

yeah, man, the previous owner didn't exactly turn it into a race car - just drive the thing and enjoy the hell out of it. i think it looks bad *** with those drag stars but, hell, just swap in some OEM wheels and it'll look original. I can't quite see it from the pix - does it have the factory gas tank or is there a fuel cell in the trunk? if it's a factory tank, might be a simple deal to fix the gas gauge - could be the sending unit in the tank... a bunch of other guys could shed more light on the details, but I bet it's not a huge deal. as far as odometer... that's why they have highway markers. :)

if the previousd owner was looking to race it, do you know what rear end gears he put in it?? Depending on what kind of driving you want to do and what gears it has, you may want to change them.

bad *** car, looks streetable to me, go take down them rice burners for old glory would ya. Let that road runner run and don't for go to "Meep Meep" on your way :)

I'm seconding the vote for "drive like you stole it , but enjoy the **** out of it".

Thats a damn fine car. Keep an eye on the temp gauge , for a daily driver in any kind of heavy traffic you may need to update the radiator , fans and water pump to keep it cool.

Other than that, start pricing out a 528 cubic inch stroker.

Looks like a decent driver, and if runs good, and is reliable, I'd probably leav well enough alone. If the motor is weak, I'd pull it, do up the engine and engine bay proper, and that would really make it look nice.

the first thing I see....looks like the distributor and the top radiator hose are very close...like poke a hole close...not crazy about the under the hood wiring job....that is the only thing I see that would leave you on the side of the road...

You have a very nice car and one you can be proud of. Drive it and enjoy it while doing whatever changes that are important to you.

Enjoy and good luck! and.........Be careful over there.

Beautiful bird buddy! love it drive it like ya stole it!!!

thank you Sir for your service...we ALL owe you a debt of gratitude.

my--.02 drive the freakin' wheels off it for the rest of the season!!!

see what she needs; well, besides painting the engine compartment--must have been a chebby guy that owned it previously! lol---and just turn the pie tin around!! that's bout it!!!

work on it over the winter when your schedule allows, and let us know how it goes!!! we love car **** here!!

welcome!!!! :headbang:

First thing is ditch the throttle return spring and buy the correct ones (plural) there are supposed to be two incase one breaks!!!!

I would clean the crap out of it, check over and adjust the brakes, add the vacuum advance, tune it up then add gas and go. You will probably want to rewire under the hood before long. There are a few wires with 10 to many connectors. Other than that drive the piss out of it.

I agree with everyone else, but will add the shifter is not correct. I have no problem with putting pistol grip shifters in cars that did not come with them, but that one is for a car with a center console it just looks a little off when there is no console. Really just personal preference i suppose.
