Yes, I have confirmed you can mount a 1969 Camaro spoiler on a 73/74 Roadrunner. :) There are two ways to do it. You can mount it on the flat area behind the center bulge of the lower valance (this is how the "Randy" spoiler gets mounted. The second way is to measure out a section of the center of the spoiler, and cut it out so it matches the shape of the valance bulge (that's the way I did it). I thought this method made the spoiler more pronounced and gave the car a little more chin. :)

The spoiler is a plastic reproduction piece I got off of ebay for $40 (spoiler, shipping, and tax). I was going to get a steel one for about $40 more, but I wanted to do a proof of concept before committing any more money.

Here's how it looks:

Now the front spoiler matches the rear spoiler:

And for all you sharp-eyed fans of the Six-Time World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, the pattern of the stripes is the sleeve pattern from our Home jerseys, and that is Art Rooney's image on the rear window and wing tips (I finally got my graphics made). :)

looks better with every pic and i thought you were done.you might catch some crap for having a cheby chin though.i like it.

If you look at the picture of the 73-74 roadrunner spoiler on Randy's Spoilers, it looks about identical to the 69/70 Camaro spoiler, so who's to say what kind of spoiler it is.

As for being done, my car's project status is complete. The project was to build a streetable Pittsburgh-themed car for less than $8k, which I did. Now I'm doing a lot of nice to have stuff like the spoilers, graphics, etc. Next spring I'll be putting in a 440, new headers, new springs, etc.

Allot of people use the 67-68 Camaro Spoilers on 68-70 Chargers & 68-69 RR's also... they are far cheaper, than anything made for a actual Mopar specific part, try these @ Summit Racing Goodmark #4020-035-671, a bunch of guys mostly cheapscates & tight-asses from www.DodgeCharger.com forum use this... on the 68-70's 2nd gen Chargers...

I have to say after looking at that spoiler all day today, I think it's something Plymouth should have added to these cars. I have to admit that the grill and front end on the 73/74 cars is pretty pedestrian looking. The power buldge hood really helps, but the spoiler really, really, makes the overall front end look much more agressive.

I was thinking of the GT500 Mustang earlier today. Take away that unique hood or spoiler and it's just not as good looking a car.

You did a great job painting those the front looks cool how the colors come right out at you, like to see what it looks like coming up on you from the mirror.., Looks really good!

Paint the chrome black. There've been a few 73/74s on here with that treatment and it makes the "pedestrian" problem go away completely. If I ever traded my 72 (best RR grille design ever) for one of those, it's the first thing I'd do.

BTW, your 74 is looking sweeeeeeeet!

The black on that car is beautiful!

On my old black '74 RR, I painted the headlight bezels black (they were horribly oxidized and new ones were like $80/side) and it made a huge improvement.

Hmmm... I'm not a fan of too much black, but I guess I'll look for a set of bezels and try painting them.

If your going to take a set and paint them black, You may want to try some of Dupli-colors black chrome paint.. It does have the look of the black chrome style rims and you can try different coats on some extra parts you might have around to see what you like best, I painted a old valve cover with it and a rim, valve cover was a lighter coat and i didn't really like it but the old rim, i think turned out good although i didn't paint it as dark as i could, kind of all scratched up and in rough shape but looks cool with the sun hitting it and black at night.. Its a kit for about 20 bucks for the paint and clear to put on it.. This rim is with only two coats of the clear, This is just to show you an option you could use on the bezels to make them look a bit fancy, this rim was in rough shape.. But, it can always be repainted with any black paint if you don't like it..

Yes, this is one of the cars I was referring too. I have seen this and spoke to the family a few times. This shot looks like this years Nats in Cbus.

Your RR looks great, Bruzilla! And that's coming from someone who does not like the Steelers one bit. I will never forget that terrible superbowl when I lived in Seattle, and the Seahawks got destroyed along with plenty of bad calls by your Steelers.

I must agree with you and others that the 71-72 RR front end is awe-inspiring, where the 73-74 front is just cool looking. But hey, the car looks awesome. And did my eyes deceive me or did you also paint the rear tail light housings yellow?

The tail light bezels are painted Steelers Gold (also known as caution yellow) and the PLYMOUTH letters on the bumper are painted in Penguins Gold.
