There is a house in New Orleans

Picked up the guitar when I was around 13 and a cousin and another buddy played.....learned to play that song but changed the lyrics. It was kinda dumb but we were having a good time. Still like that song a lot and it brings back memories of good times.

House of the Rising Sun is one of the great classic rock songs. Eric Burdon and the Animals were kind of a bad boy, bluesy alternative to a lot of the British rock bands at the time. I still play their old LP's all the time.

Love that tune, it was one of the first songs i learned on my guitar, My dad was all country but when i played it for him ill never forget the smile on his face. Memory's indeed!

Yea that is one of first songs i learned on guitar as well..she has been a while since i picked up a six string though:pimp3:

I love the Animals, my older sister Lori, when I was about 9-10 y/o & her 14-15 y/o would listen to the Animals, James Brown & the Temp's records all the time, I was the designated record re-player...LOL... I was always down stairs, her room was upstairs, she would yell down, "turn it up" or "load them up again" or "turn them over & play the other sides", great old memories, great old music, nothing like the 60's & early 70's Rock & Roll or R&B Soul/Motown...

:tearyeyed:thanks

That's one of the songs I play regularly on my Taylor 6 string. Good stuff indeed.

Pretty cool! Yea, i know what you mean with the icon (i think) i do attempt a few of the rock and roll songs but usually was kind of all country at the time.. I don't think ive had mine out in a year :)

thats funny ron, most guys in our era i thought learned "i hear that train a coming" first. lol

First song to learn was Louie Louie then Wipe out.

I can do that Rick! forgot about that one, fairly simple tune played in E, well i did anyway.. Been so long now id be afraid to pick one up and start pickin and grinin. lol At the least the pickin part.. i do have an acoustic, This is the one my dad bought when he was 15 years old, he taught me on this, and this is my son i taught.. Now he is the one if you like Neil Young (like who don't!) Pink Floyd and that kind of music.. Hes pretty good with it, Simple man he plays so good i love to listen to him.
