I am trying to find somewhere that I can get the center blackout stripe for my power bulge hood WITHOUT the R/T logo or the Super Bee emblem? Any suggestions? I am pretty sure I have seen a couple of cars over the years posted up like that but can not find a source for them.

I this what your looking for?
The 71 Superbee Hood black-out w/ the circular Bee?
If so, try Phoenix Graphix

PS: Sorry, did not mean to post the first post. New software and site menu, I screwed up.
What year; 71?

72 charger rallye w/bulge hood has the black out with no logos also.

Phoenix graphix could possibly be a help, if you want to compare prices or cant find the exact one you need..

Also note that different years had different size blackouts.

I happen to like the smaller ones that only cover the "plateau" of the bulge.

Some cover the entire bulge all the way to the flat of the hood, and some have "open areas" for emblems.

What I am looking for is a blackout that covers just the top raised area (with small stripe out line) that appears just like the 71 R/T blackout. However I believe this hood came off a 73 model. I could not find any 71 hoods...period. So after a couple of years I just put it on and went with it! It will never be a "numbers car" so why not.....it is a driver!

ok, only year which actually got decals on bulged hoods was 71s. They could be either with R/T cutout or Superbee cutout and logo since these were the only models available with bulged hoods. They fit just on top of bulged area

the rest of years were painted since the blackout reachs the bottom section of bulged area, without logos. It can't be decal since would shrink out trying to get all the curved areas to reach the bottom area of bulge. You should get stencils for 72s then 73/74 which got a clear area for the engine badge.

Thats talking about correctness.

Now I know the decal vendors offers the 71 kind ( as has been posted ) without cutout but to fit just on top of bulge to make it look LIKE a 72. That's an incorrect piece but for a custom look.

No wondering... I guess 318 rallyes didn't got black outs as option since 73s, since 318magnum badges doen't exist... just the MAGNUM one which I thing it was just for 74 360s. Unless didn't care get the cleared area there without a badge. Dunno.

I know the only "correct" stripe in 71 was the R/T logo or the Superbee. I do not want either on the car because I am not going for the "clone" look.

I only want the top of the bulge to be covered by the black out stripe. I did not want to paint the hood black out because it would likely not match the body/cowl stripe.

So with that said....and looking back at the description....it appears they are using the same 73 hood (note cowl vents and lack of them in the center) to show the decal they offer at Performance Car Graphics

That's the one I like!

yeap, that's an non factory option ( as far I know ) I think designed initially for later models, used before the stencils for painted blackouts were available to get the correct look.

yeap, that's an non factory option

Since the car was a 318 car and now having a 440, 4 wheel disc, converted to console shift and wearing a 73 hood.....I guess another "non original" item will not kill it! :laughing6: I also think it would look better than having the logo on a flat hood. Plus I don't want to listen to the "its not really an R/T" or "its not really a Super Bee" comments! I would rather make it my own way that to "clone" it.

I agree totaly also .. Build it the way you like .. Its all real mopar muscle ... To me a clone is like a 1973 ford torino with road runner decals lol

I wouldn't say that. I preffer to say, if you're gone to clone it, make it RIGHT, if just a custom job, make it the best and complete as posible

I agree with not instigating on a modded car that has "factory correct" "upgrades".

I'll be putting a RR hood on my 73 Satellite, but I'm not putting RR decals on it.
(although I am considering Marvin the Martian)
(hey, it's a Warner cartoon character and a space theme!)

Because I have a clone myself I look at it this way. First, if it is what you want who cares what others think! I tried to make mine as correct as possible. For me it is what I had years ago, so it is what I built today. No regrets.

If....and only IF...I could have found an R/T, Superbee or Ramcharger hood. I would have no problems in putting the correct stripe on the hood for whichever hood it was wearing! However, I could not locate one and so it got the 73 hood I had. It was just collecting dust. I also have not given up on finding one of the hoods listed above! If and when I find one it will then get the correct blackout! To me personally, a bulge hood without the insert or air grabber would look odd with the logo.

I guess I could always cut the decal to where it would "appear" to have the door for the Ramcharger hood.....lol

You need to do what you like, We cant build our cars to others specs.. If im the one putting my time, work and money into it, im building it the way i want it.. Not one of us should be out building our cars so everyone else is happy, ive over the years had the real ones the plain ones and the cloned ones, ive enjoyed them all and will always enjoy them. I never try to change ones mind, i have always said you need to build it the way you want it, I would never try to change someones mind if they like things i do not, it sure would be a boring show. That and hell bent wrong to do it.

carcrazyguy, i have an email i can give you that you can have any decals or stripes changed or made the way you want them, its yours for the asking she (Beth) told me i can give it out.. You could email her what you want sometime if you decide you want to do it.. Or any thing in the future, she can change them or make them, i would have put it hear but its not allowed. let me know anytime. or anyone else that may want it.
