stainless trim restoration and aluminum polishing

I'm restoring my 69 coronet convt. Any suggestions for trim restoration. I also would like some aluminum polished. I have the R/T grille and have seen some with it completely polished instead of silver paint, also need valve covers polished and aluminum radiator polished then have them powdercoated so the hold the shine.

do you have price quotes already and do you mind sharing? I'm looking at my 70 RR and 68 RT so work would be comparable. RR is vinyl top and RT is Conv otherwise pretty similar in requirements.

I am having mine done by a local guy here in ne ohio, like MR ITIS said if you want quality open you wallet WIDE. But its worth it, i just talked to locals to find out who's the best and make the call. Mine's in the $2,800 range. Luckily he needs machines repaired an i'm the guy to do that. But u pay for quality.

He is polishing my stainless and I will most likely be near the $4000.00 mark just with him.

There is a place that was cheaper by about 20% in Greensburg, PA. They are M & P polishing, but I went with Pauls as they have a great reputation and I used them in the past with my Demon 340.

Wow.......That's insane! $75 Bucks on a table buffer, $30 on a buffing kit (including wheels and compound from Eastwood), some sand paper (120, 220, 400), precision files and a body hammer..........you just saved a ton of money. Rechroming obviously needs to be sourced out, but for the stainless and aluminum, do it yourself. You can by anodizing kits.

Honestly it's not that hard to do and the reason it's so pricey is that it's very time consuming. I do all my own and taught myself. Watched some video's, asked some questions and practiced on some old trim out of the boneyard. Get good at it, the aluminum will look new and your stainless will look like chrome. I feel for you guys. That's a heck of an extra expense for bright work.

truth be told, im buffing the stainless on da olde GTXer as we speak (still on the car). it's my first time, and it's coming out great. i purchased the "deluxe" eastwood buffing kit, i have my little dewalt drill and im going to town.

it is time consuming, but its actually pretty fun.
