Anybody have experience in purchasing and installing a rear sway bar in a B body with the leaf springs moved in?

Mini Tub Here is the set up on our 66 Coronet were running a Sure Grip 456 /558ci

A little hard to see but were running ladder bars and a Panard bar....we don't get any sway with this set up...we also braced the frame up...if this is what you are looking for I can take more photos

I put a rear sway bar in my 68 satellite. It's a frame hung unit from firm feel and sits above the axle. Works great.

68....How does it attach? My frame rails are stock but the springs are moved in about 3" per side and the tires come within 1/2" of the frame rails.

The FF rear sway bars are frame hung like a factory bar, which is why I bought my rear sway bar from them. It has a mount that sandwiches into the front leaf spring perch location and then inboard of that is a U-shaped channel piece that fits right over the frame rails at an angle and comes with 2 metal screws that tap into the frame rails. My suspension guy recommended if those screws didn't hold well enough then he could substitute a through bolt, but so far so good for street driving. Actually in the photo below it looks like they may have switched over to a through bolt. I may have them send me a set.

I don't think you'll have any tire clearance issues. If you want assurance from Firm Feel, give Dick a call and he'll tell it to ya straight. He's a nice guy and very helpful and knowledgeable. See attached photo for one side of setup from their website. The installation orientation is just as you see here - the sway bar goes up above the mount location instead of down below the axle like most others. We had a little trouble during installation getting it around my exhaust, but one of the suspension guys messed with it for 15 min and was able to snake it in there and Git R Done! I thought I had a photo from under my car, but I can't find it.FFswayrear.jpg

That would bolt up to the frame but would be 3" too wide (each side) for the spring mounts.

I would give the guys at firm feel a call and tell them what your setup is. Its my understanding that they bend them themselves, so maybe they could take 3'' out of the middle so to speak, or put a couple bends in the ends to bring the width down to what you need. Probably not the first time someone has looked for this.
