Need help with hideaway headlight rod on 70 Charger. Took grill of to restore last fall. Now putting it all back together, I see the rod from the headlight motor to the headlight doors does not line up straight and needs to bend to mate up to each of the headlight door arms. If the motor was mounted about 2 more inches away from the frame it looks like it would line up but everything is in it's original spots and I see no way to correct this without modifying things. I do not remember if the rod was bending this way or not before I took it apart but it looks odd. Can anyone else with hideaways confirm if this bend in the rod is normal? I am afraid of it straining the motor the way it looks. Manual is no help.

Looks like something might be missing I'd have to look at mine at home to be sure since I'm out on the road maybe be able to see it this Friday if nobody chimes in by then ill look and get couple shots

Thanks! Was worried it may burn the motor out with all that extra strain. Have to wonder why they made it like that. Sure looks messed up just looking at it but they are working.
