Hey guys, new here, and I hate to ask this (I'm sure it's been asked a million and one times, so I apologize now).
But, I just picked up a 67 satellite, not my first mopar and not my first b body, in fact I used to own a survivor 67 GTX (I'm a creature of habit lol I just love the body style).
Im pretty good at decoding VIN's no prob, but the fender tags have me stumped.
heres my confusion,
on the top row of lower case letters, right below the "a" it has a "5", so using online "decoders" it doesn't list just an "a5" it shows "a05" or "a50" etc but some of the options don't seem to line up with a 67 option.
How do I decode the fender tag?
Maybe I'm making it more difficult than it is?
thanks for any assistance, great site.

It may be easier if I just list my fender tag, and point out my confusion, I think my post is confusing (?)
Top line, lower case letters;.(a5, b5, g0, h7, u1)
Second line, capital letters; (A1, R1, S1, X1)
AX-48, TRM-P6V, PNT-AA1, UB2-Q88
RP23 62 5 435 B15 02271

So going by the online decoders, if I look up the top line, lower case "b" there's a "5" below it, but there's no "b5" listed, and it appears "b05" is a drum brake option that wasn't available until 1972 ???????

Thanks a bunch YY1!
VERY helpful!
so, I learned my 67 Sat was a special order, silver metallic, 383 4bbl, auto, sure grip rear end, 26" rad, AC, AM radio, all tinted glass, fender turn sigs, buddy seat, chrome belt line molding, completed Nov. 15th., to name a few options, this thing seemed to be fairly loaded, PS, PB, remote mirror etc.

but I do have a couple questions that I wasn't able to find;
-top line, lower case letters, b5 what option was this?
-TRM code, P6V, is this a two tone interior, red and white? What parts were red and which interior parts were white?
-the UBS code Q88, it says "dark red" so, were the window frames dark red? Or what part was dark red?
also, it mentions "strip delete", what "stripe" was available on a 67 Sat.?
Thanks

that fender tag decoder looks familiar...I put it together..mainly for the Chargers, but it helps on other cars as well

a5 is for the fold down buddy seat bewteen the front bucket seats
b5 appears to be rear arm rests with ashtrays according to the book

I found your decoder VERY helpful, it only left me with a couple questions.
b5 Makes sense Bryan, thanks!
it does, indeed, have ashtrays in the rear armrests, so I think that's accurate.
I will say the TRM code and UBS code have me scratching my head,
I didn't think the Sat.'s came with a stripe to delete, and which parts would be "dark red"?
As the car sits now, The two tone interior is different, it looks like everything from the front seats forward is red and everything behind the front seats back is white. It just seems....odd (?)

stripe delete may be the ones on the side of car? Horizontal stripe delete, at bottom of door that says "GTX"

interior color red should be dash & pad, carpets, trim around the interior, package tray

white should be seats, door panels, headliner, arm rests

I'm not 100% on the Plymouths, I can read a Charger fender tag blindfolded.

Okay, i see,
it's the rocker stripe, it runs beneath the belt molding trim, from the front bumper to the rear bumper. I never noticed it before.
ive got some work to do on the interior to get it correct, what you said makes sense and it sounds like it would actually look pretty good as well.
I think I figured out the UBS code, Q88, since I have AA1 silver met paint, my upper door frames should be dark red and IF I had the stripe (instead of stripe delete) it would've, more than likely, been dark red as well.
although, I'm not certain why the code Q88 seems to have an extra 8 ? Q= dark red, 8= stripe delete, 8=??????

Sounds like a very cool car.

I've never seen a silver special with a red interior, and I've never seen a silver car with a red and white interior.

...and a 383-4 SG car to boot!

Pics?

I think you might wanna look at that again...are you 100% sure that it's not a "B" instead of an "8"??

I would need pic of tag to tell you the rest. If ya have to, take tag off and turn it over & read the back, the letters & numbers will be more clear

Bryan

It looks like Q88, ill try to upload a pic....

I'll take it.

Sure looks like "88".

Was it the lower body color?

Wasn't that black or gray on Satellites?

Yours could have been a one color car?

Because its still wearing a lot of its orig paint, i agree with you, the whole car looks silver, so I'm not sure where the Q=dark red, is even present, I don't see dark red anywhere (?), the first 8=stripe delete, makes sense because I don't see any signs of a lower body stripe

DUH!
I got the codes reversed,
UBS
Q88
should be Q=Dark red (still don't see any darke red tho?)
8=AA1 metallic silver paint (correct?)
8=stripe delete

there ya go...that sounds better

the "Q" would be for upper door frame paint..which should relate to the painted portion of door in front of door panel....inside the car, not on the outside

AA1 is silver, yes

Yes sir, I believe that's it.
the upper door frames on the inside are red, so youre correct again, that's the Q code.
