How Much did you pay for your RoadRunner?

i bought my 69 RR in 2005 for $8500. 100% rust free body, balanced and slightly built 383 4-speed. drove it home after purchase from Pahrump, NV to LA CA. since then i have dumped lots of money into the ol' girl, and she still aint done.

The Pickle set me back a bit, but I think I paid what it was worth & I'm happy with it.

I know this is for RR's but thought it was interesting how many paid around the same price as I did for my Charger ($3,500) of coarse it was a basket case missing lots of parts. Sounds like allot of us got some good deals.

SANY0267.JPGSANY0310.JPGno cash!, traded straight up for the 77 petty blue 4 speed road runner for the ralley green 69 road runner :thumbsup:SANY0311.JPG

They must not of gained much value then :thinker:. :icon_razz:

Oh, I don't know. How many cars out there now will bring as much as they were new after driving them for 26 years? Plus I would say you got a pretty good deal (me not knowing the condition.)

I bought my first Road Runner, my 70 Hardtop in approx Sep or Oct 1981 for $1,135 after several months of searching (even in 1981 .. rural IL and all). Bought the second one, a 68 RR Coupe, a few months later in a snowstorm in Dec 1981 for $800 .. me and Dad did drive it first though even in the snow w/ more snow coming down, at night. It was a 4 speed also and cool as hell and I drove it home over 2 hours away on two lane blacktops/highway. I was 16.

The 70 needs a total resto which I hope to do over the next couple years and I expect it to cost a **** ton, the 68 was sold back in 1991 or 92. Man that was really a great car. There were others but that was the first two. I wish I had them all back and the room and money to treat them right !!

Still have this old Hot Rod .. but not the old gal in the back ground

I paid 22k in '05 for mine. It was turn key and had a good paint job on it. There was no rust that I could find at the time but there is some very small spots starting to pop out on it now in the rockers. It may be next year before I can do anything about it. I've had some small mechanical issues over the years but it's never let me down anywhere. Including a 600+ mile trip in some very hot weather.
