Big Dogs
My Grandpa in PA had a St. Bernard named Maggie when I was a little kid. The dog was HUGE !!!! She loved to play in the snow and was a gentle giant and awesome dog. She looked a lot like David's dog pictured above.
Unfortunately the larger dogs have a much shorter life span as a rule. I think she only lived to be 6. What a shame. It just rips your heart out when it happens.
We went through that back in 2007 when I had to put down my other Chocolate Lab named Candy. We raised her from a pup and she was with me 24 hours a day every day of her life during her first 3 years. I used to take her to work with me. She was a shop dog too. Loved to ride shotgun in my truck too, sticking her head out the side window.
I held her in my arms at the very end. I didn't want her to be alone. I still miss her very much.
