One of the projects I'd like to tackle this spring is to repaint the engine bay. It wasn't properly prepped when it was repainted and the paint has lifted in a few spots, especially around the firewall/fender and around the driver strut tower. I have a 1 car garage and no space to do it myself. I want the repaint done right this time. The car was painted by someone hired by the previous owner.
My idea of 'right' includes pulling the motor (repainting it), and stripping down to bare metal in the entire engine bay. Given the limited space (and time), I'm having a professional do it. I'm not 100% sure of paint code but it looks like alpine white. I would want to have a spectrometer to color match.
Can I get an idea on cost to do an engine bay resto?
How many hours to remove the motor and accessories?
Any recommendations on a reputable shop in the Philly area?
My car: 68 Roadrunner, 440 6-pack, with power steering.
