Thanx 4 any info.

I'm not aware of any National "Max Wedge" racing rules.... Most likely, any specific rules to a "Max Wedge" class of racing would be local track rules only.....
I would think that a Max Wedge car running as just that,,,,,, "A Max Wedge Car" ,,, you would be in a stock class.
The only thing that would / should apply at that point would be ET related. IE; roll bar, roll cage, seat belts or harness, etc,.
Some of the tracks have been adopting an NSS class of racing, but it hasn't caught on everywhere yet. You could check to see if your local track has this class or not.....

Depends on whose races your running. National rules are set up. http://www.evansvillekia.com/nssna-nss-rules
Most run on these rules. If you're legal for these you are pretty much legal anywhere. Basically NHRA safety rules for cage/bar, upholstered interior (don't need rear seat), 10.5"max tire, Big block or Hemi, 727 or stick, 5" max period style scoop or no scoop, no electronics, air shift, trans brake .There's others running looser rules as well.

NENDRA(North East Drag Racing Association)is opening up it's rules for 2013
Just want everyone who is interested in racing with NENDRA next year up at Lebanon Valley,NY and Island dragway in Great meadows NJ.
NENDRA is opening up their rules to allow modern hood scoops, transbrakes, big slicks.
As long as your car is Detroit built from 1961-1973 and it has a stock looking interior you are welcome to join the group. PM me if interested. Usually 12-15 races per year.

THANKS Doug for the kind words.
We just don't allow blowers, turbo cars or nitrous cars.

I think if you want to run a max wedge car in NHRA stock or NHRA super stock it needs to be a 62 to 64 car. There were no max wedge cars in 1965.

That is true. Most or all do allow 65's to race with a wedge in them instead of a hemi in NSS organizations.

65 dodges and plymouth's are very popular in NSS racing

BATCORONET,

Chrysler Classic had a MW class along with a Hemi Class. Bob George and AJ Casini is holding two races this year one at Quaker City and one at Pittsburgh, they have rolled the MW class and Hemi Class into Nostalgia S/S. If you're running a 65 with a MW you'll fit in fine, I wouldn't worry about it.

See my post - 2014 BGR championship series

Here are the rules for Nostalgia S/S

NSS
Will compete on 1/4 mile.
ET Break 12.50 and quicker.
Full size sedans and station wagons produced from 1960-1972
Cars must have been available with big block engines as an option.
Exceptions: 68 HEMI Darts and Cudas, 68 428 CJ Package Mustangs, 69 AMX SS package cars.

Big Block Engines Only. No Smallblocks. Dual and Single Four Barrel allowed.

Cars must appear period correct. Hood scoops must be period correct. No cowl or snorkel style hoods allowed.

No electronics allowed. Exception is 2 step for manual transmission equipped cars.
Cars dial in must end in 0 or 5.
Cars must pass IHRA tech inspection for ET.
