My 70 Superbee came with factory air. I am much older & wiser since I first purchased the car. In my younger, but dumber days I removed the A/C plus all the components to make it function all together except for the dash vents. Now I'm finally getting around to restoring the car. At this point since virtually every thing to do with the A/C is gone I figured it would be best to just go with a more up to date aftermarket setup. I checked with Classic Air & it seems as if they have the best A/C setup for a B Body Mopar. It comes with everything inside the car plus everything under the hood to do with the A/C. The cost however, $1648 shipped to my door about knocked me down when the salesman quoted it. Before I order this setup I was wanting to get some others opinions or to see if anyone else here has used a Classic Air setup. I like to get what I pay for so, if I pay that price I want a penguin to be comfortable riding in my Bee.

Mopar Classic Air Kits Rock!!! I've personally installed about twenty of these kits and my customers love them!!! P.S. I'm in Phoenix where it hits 115deg. :)

it's a good kit, but it's not a "drop in" affair..some modifications will have to be done....I have heard this from other members on other forums who have used it

These kits are pretty much "drop in" especially with DER (control heads) very lil mod required, The Best I can say about Classic Air is: the Support Techs are there for you, call with a problem, they will walk you through it. Try that with Vintage...

Yes,the best. 8 years office cold classic auto air, Tampa.

After hearing these good reviews I think I will get ready to order an A/C kit. Thanks guys, if you are satisfied with them then I think I will be also.

I have also purchased the Classic Air system. Since your firewall was setup for A/C, how you need to adapt the system to your firewall may be different that what I had to do. Also, since I have an air grabber car, I purchased a kit to place the compressor under the alternator. This way, it is mostly hidden. I have not even run the system yet, so I can't vouch for how well it works, but the kit looks very professional and complete. I think you get what you pay for...

If you like, check it out on my build thread. This shows the bracket and A/C kit (starting at post #10):

Super Bee-Ski,
I also want to go with the compressor you got - I'm opting for the low-mount style. Can you tell us the rest of your A/C setup?

Talk about preaching to the chorus.
Pretty much word for word is the same experience I'm having now. My Bee is nearing the end of the body work/paint faze and Like you it's an ac car with about the only thing left are the vents in the dash. The $600.00 ebay aftermarket universal kits were starting to look good after the $1,600.00 plus sticker shock. But than I noticed that all of the hoses are the screw on hose clamp style that I'm sure won't last long. Plus this that and the other things start looking pretty cheezy. Lord I just wish It wasn't so pricey.

I guess I'm the guinea pig again, using the new Vintage Air B-Body setup. I would be finishing up the A/C install this weekend, but my daughters car needs a new PS pump that I'm waiting for right now, and the timing belt/waterpump replaced. Same deal with last week, fix the kids cars and mine gets the low priority because it's not a daily driver.

I just picked up the set from Bouchillion's.
Call Randy, he'll set you up.
The Hemi cant run the lower mounted Sanden compressor due to interference issues.
BTW: Bob "Cuda-Bob" Stagg actually designed the lower front mount compressor bracket.
