I'm Guessing This is What a Gas Monkey Garage Mopar Would Look Like

Gas Monkey woulda put Green paint on it, air suspension under it, and a chevy crate motor in it.

:rolling:

Yep....and they'd leave the head liner out as a finishing touch..

All that work...and they paint the engine bay black?

Maybe I am obtuse, but what is the hate on the black bay? Not that I would do it, just curious.

I dig the car, not a more door fan but it's different. I am a Mopar guy for the fact that it is different.

:iamwithstupid:

The non-body colored engine bay is a real stickler, like I jokingly said "that's the deal breaker"...LOL, it always has been, with allot of the more purist mentality Mopar guys...

Mainly because the "brand X" has black engine bays...

Thanks. That what I was thinking but just wasn't sure.

I think they did a "mopar", a truck that they put a Chevy motor in. Then they sold it back to the original owner, they knew that if anybody else were to come look at it, then they would ask, "where's the hemi?"

So let this be a lesson to you kids! The next time you complain about Gas Monkey Garage not doing Mopars, just think about how you would feel if they did this to a Road Runner or Charger. :) Better they stick to slamming and goofing up Brand X cars.

Typically, when someone puts that kind of effort into ANY make of car they do more than 'black out' the engine bay (and yes it harkens to brand-X style cheapness).

Painting engine bays (and trunks) to match the car is, after all, what car builders typically do with brand-X rides when trying to get them to stand out! I'm not a hard line purist by any means...I just always viewed the Mopars as being 'a step ahead the rest' with their color matched engine bays (and trunks).

Frankly it looks like a taxi cab. I drove taxi one summer in college and the company I worked for had 1968 Plymouth Fury 4-door cabs. Very roomy but not terribly exciting. The one in the ad has a built 318 which is a little surprising to me. One is more used to seeing a 383 or 440 big block in a c-body car like that.

I should go and check it out its about 3 miles from me.... everyone has their own taste.... it's a mopar and its not crushed into a cube waiting to be Chinese brake drums so I'm all for it.

its not my thing but I don't think his price is far off for whats been done to it, any mopar out of the junkyard is a good thing :)

I have that same issue with yellow cars. All I can think of is "taxi" when I see one.
