Have a 70 RR......has the stock floor shift with the console........have been wanting to replace it with something "different".....found the Duncan Motor Sports Shifter-R-Gate last fall but just called them to order one and they do not make them anymore, they just make the Shift-R-Arm (which is nice also but does not have the handle for the Mopar stock pistol grip shifter handles) so wondering what my options are for a more modern/different looking shifter that can use the stock Mopar pistol grip handle? Checked on the Hurst Pro Matic 2 but looks like you have to "remove" the stock shifter mounting to use it and would rather not have to do that in case down the line myself or a future owner wants to re-install the stock shifter.......are there any other choices out there that do not require removing the stock shifter mounting?

thanks

Update: Decided to go with a Duncan Motor Sports Shift-R-Arm and right now will mount a Hurst Black Pistol Grip handle on it. In mean time looking for somewhere I can get a stock looking Mopar wood handle made........

Update #2: Found the idle Hands Wood work web site www.idlehandswoodwork.com they make custom wood grips for the Mopar manual shifter arms and I am having him make me a Mopar looking wood pistol grip shifter grip/handle for the Duncan Motor Sports Shift-R-Arm I have ordered for my 70 RR. Will post a couple photos when it is all in and working.

I looked at what was involved in installing a Hurst Pro Matic 2 or one of the B&M's and both brands needed the stock shifter mounting to be removed in order to install the shifters with the stock console in place. Decided I did not want to do that so I went with the Duncan Motorsports Shift-R-Arm.

I would try a gun shop and have them make a pistol grip from some walnut or whatever you like.. no pun intended

I would have one made by Idle Hands. Amazing craftsmanship, now that is high quality and the variety of selection is 2nd to none. Heck, I have an TF727 automatic and I love looking at all the different colors and styles.

Thanks for the link and post pictures of the one you have made.

NICE
