Bummer as I am all signed up for the Mopar NSS race on Oct 25th at MIR in Md but funds are causing a problem and I may not make that race either. If I dont it means I will not make the track at all this year but I have some other priorities that have to come first. There is still a small chance I may make it but its not looking to good. And it can bum me out as I do love racing as its nothing like that feeling with your foot out to the bumber trying to cross the finish line in front of that car in the other lane right at your front fender !! I enjoy test & tunes but racing in competetion being neck and neck with the other car next to you at over 124 mph is a ton of fun. Oh well if I dont make it I can shoot for next April when its still good racing weather ! Ron

Next saturday is the nostalgia race at capitol. Certainly that is closer and doable. You know jack will be there. I have to work. Maybe it will rain out and be sunday so I can go

Hey Rebel, Thanks for the info on the Capitol Raceway event. Wasn't aware of it. Hummmmm Hunt or Race on Sat ??

I feel your pain I want to go on the 18th but can't make it I am pretty bombed about it

at-least yours is done...LOL

sorry to hear your not going to probably race this year,
I've been jonesing too go racing also,
other more important priorities, like the house, money life & family been holding me back...
such is life there's hopefully always next year,
One of the only good thing about living in Calif.,
is we have racing weather 11-12 months out of the year usually thou...

I think I'm being paid back, for all the fun I had, my 1st 50 years in life...LOL

I haven't been to the track, in my cars in over 2 almost 3 years now...

I know how you feel, I'm able to race this year only because I managed to get some sponsorship help. I hope it will continue next year.

The season has come to an end with me and I hope that the winter is easy so that I have time to rebuild drive train for next season. Best of luck on getting to the drags.

I did not even know about the Capital race until last Sunday when Jack told me. Thing is I actually will be getting in for free at MIR and getting a $100. dollar bonus just for making the first round as they have this deal for the first 24 signed up get in free and a $100 dollar bonus and I was in the first 24 signed up. So I thought I would just give the $100 dollars to someone I get to tow me as its about a 2 hr tow from my house. But I figure between gas in my 63 and I would like to pay the way in for the person that tows me also so I still need to have some extra cash for MIR. And after buying a beater car this month I am gonna be about broke. So I have to see how it goes. I could go to Capital on the 18th and drive my car as its about a 45 minute ride but it will still cost me at least a hundred dollars between gas , food and track fee. So I will just have to weigh things out and if I can go it will be great but if not I will survive until next year as I have to do the smart thing. I love racing but it is a hobby and I do realize that. At least I have got to drive my car alot this year. Ron

I always say that I`ll LIVE TO FIGHT ANOTHER DAY!

I know how you're feeling Ron....this is our Canadian Thanksgiving this weekend and I'm missing the Turkey Nationals at Sparta, both because I had to work thru Friday(too late to get a spot) and also because I can't afford a $500.00 3 day race weekend right at the moment..........

Hoping that the weather holds and maybe I can get down Monday for test & tune....and if not....yes, we'll survive till next year..

lets start a 383MAN racing charity

You all dont know how much I appreciate the jesture as it shows the great people in this hobby. And I did not post this for that as I could not take money from anyone for my hobby that I love as its just that.......a hobby and not a nessessity. Its something I love and enjoy but dont have to do if its not in the funds as other things do have priorities. And as I said I did get to drive my car alot this year as some have not even had that luck this year so it could be worse. But thanks again for the offer as I do appreciate it and it tells me how good the people are on this site ! Ron

Ron if I could help I would be right there!!.....1,000 miles too far to help:eusa_think:

prayin' for you bud,
Sonny

Things are looking better. Talked with my brother today as he wil be there in his 64 you see pictured here. He says he will lend me the money if he has to as he wants me to go so we can race together. We raced each other last year as he had his low 9 second Cuda and in all the years we have raced its the first time we ever raced each other in eliminations. So I plan to go now and want to at least line up with his 64 in a time run so I can get a pic of his 64 and my 63 racing each other. I dont have any good pics of my 63 and his 64 together racing each other. Ron
