hi!!

I'm trying hard to look for a new/used(remachinable) 10 by 2 inch brake drums for the rear of my 66 Belvedere!!

i have 1.75 brake shoes new and i can't seem to find the drums that match anywhere....

anyone have a pair for sale please?!!?

THank you!!

Hi
I have a 67 Belvedere 4 door that I'm parting out. I may have the drums that you need because it also has a slant 6. I haven't pulled the rear tires off yet but I will try to do it this weekend. I will let you know the condition and size asap. Thanks Ken

this is great!! the drums on my car were really rusted and i have everything replaced except the drums due to the fact that no body seemed to have them, if you would please- can you measure that what you have (i'm sure it might be the same as mine) and confirm it is 10x2 and contact patch inside the drum is for 1.75inch shoes?! i'll also send you a PM!

'Really rusted'...on the outside, or pitted where the shoes are applied? Unless there is extreme pitting where the shoe is applied...that would take them out of specs once turned, simply sand blast them and then paint em' the color of your choice!

Per the web, AutoZone has them for $34 http://www.autozone.com/brakes-and-...re/1966/8-cylinders-4-5l-2bl/210369_0_0_2117/

Rusted i mean not going back on rusted....

and i looked at the one from autozone before, it doesn't say anywhere how wide that is..... i called the service and they can't say how wide it is either, untill i order and see it i assume it's 10x2.5 like everywhere else

look at my photos attached of my drum below on my other thread! thanks!

http://www.forbbodiesonly.com/moparforum/showthread.php?85690-HELP!!-i-can-t-find-the-brake-drums-for-66-belv-4door!!!

that's what i meant by rusted...

Brake assemblies are listed by 12 x 2 or 10 x 2-1/4, which is the diameter of the brakes (10, 12) and the width of the brake shoes ( 2, 2-1/4).

In looking at your previous posts of the pictures the drum seems to indicate a 1.75 shoe. Maybe if he sent you some pictures they just might be the ones that you are looking for.

The shoes on the rear of my 66 were only 1.5" wide! Ended up turning my deeply grooved drums myself (I'm a machinist) and running them until I swapped out the dinky 7 1/4 rear for an 8 3/4 but they worked fine even though they were .040 over max cut. I could find drums but it was the shoes I couldn't find....

According to the FSM...Factory Service Manual...the drum sizes on the '66 Ply Belvedere are as follows:

V-8, Heavy Duty, Sub
Front 10 X 2 1/2
Rear 10 X 2 1/2
Shoes 2 1/2

6 Cylinder
Front 10 X 2 1/4
Rear 10 X 1 3/4

I have the V-8 size Rims only but if that is the size engine you have then these are the correct ones. Rusty on the outside but will clean up. Linings can be cleaned of surface rust real easily. If interested PM me...cr8crshr/Tuck
