Post your fastest quarter or eighth mile times using super stock leaf springs including 60ft times,

Mine so far is 6.34 in the eighth and 1.38 60ft

What combo do you have, motor? weight? tires?
Doug

I have a 440 punched out to a 499. It has 29.5X10.5 hoosier, car weighs 3456lbs with me in the car victor 440 intake 2" spacer for the 4150 to 4500 so I can get the 1250 dominator on it. I use rpm heads that has been worked with the lunati 636 solid roller cam. harland sharp rockers 1.5. thats foot braking havent used the trans brake yet

Pretty good. My last build with S/S spring for a friend. 69 GTX, Eddys, .060" over 440, .590 solid, MP S/S springs, 4.56, 8 3/4, 10.5x28, 1.42 /60, 10.83@123 Unknown street headers, stock water pump, battery up front, full bench seat interior, 3750 lbs.

That is really good especially for the weight of the car. I am still deciding if I like the S/S springs or not. Car has a bad twist in it and it wants to drive to the right as soon as I launch. I have a 14 pt roll cage

Here is my best. No ss springs though. I have the xhd springs with 275/60/15 radials. No bar, stock stroke .030 over 440. MPH best was 118.26 this spring. Car weighs 3690 with me in it.My best 60 ft. was 1.567

When you say twist, you mean like this??

That is close the driver side front tire is about 6" off the ground and the passenger is about 2 to 4ish. I am not sure if its the springs or just all that torque that these 440s put out ;)

That is really good 60ft times man for just some XHD springs though and especially with that heavy road runner she looks good! Thats why I love my mopars they are always impressing people.

My 63 is a street car I race sometimes. I use basically all stock suspension with 3400 lb SS springs in the back with the longer MP shocks. Up front is all stock suspension with just Comp 90/10 shocks. Thats it for the suspension as the rest I rebuilt with stock parts. I race it in full street trim through the full exh on 92 pump as its a 440/493 I built with good quench and 10.6 comp using aluminum heads. Runs good on 92 pump as I have never had race gas in the tank and I have never uncapped the car. At just over 3700 lbs best et is 10.76 @ 124.79 with a 1.50 best 60 using my Dynamic 9.5 conveter that drives great on the street and will flash about 4200 at the track. I usually drive it to the track unless I race to far from home to chance breaking and not having a way home. I drive the car all the time on the street and have only raced it once a year the last few years. Ron

I usually stack my own springs. Have you tried going with a heavier spring on the right? You can even take out a leaf or two from the left to see if it changes the roll. A simpler way to experiment is to stick on an air shock on the right side only and play with the PSI and see if that will help reduce the body roll. If it does, then you can make adjustments to the springs or install a better shock mount and just keep the air shock. Is your battery mounted to the right rear of the car? Move it to the left. Add a sway bar to the rear. Lots of things you can do to change the characteristics of the car but can only imagine what the leaf springs are going through with that much roll going on....and they do break when pushed beyond their limits. Buddy and I went 11 teens with a 4 speed road runner and decided to throw on some ladder bars and not mess with all the movement and driving left or right. When the rear end is allowed to move a lot with leafs, they can actually steer the rear. If one spring is staying pretty flat and the other is arcing, it'll steer it.....

That is very impressive 383man especially since you drive it on the street all the time and having such low compression I can only imagine the heads that turn when you roll by LOL

I have two batteries and they are on different sides, I was thinking about staggering my air pressure in my tires to see if that will help. I may have to go to the ladder bar coil over set up one day just to help the car launch and be more consistent. I just like the old 60s look. But I have not messed with the leafs at all they are out of the box 3800lbs springs

Thanks for the kind words "Badbelvedere" . I am posting this vid just so you can see how my 63 launches. With just the SS springs it kinda lifts the car a tad and then the left front always lifts more then the right as the left front usually gets some air but not the right front. But you can see in this vid it goes nice and straight all the time so I leave it alone. I also use a solid flat tappet cam. I have frame connectors and a 6 point rollbar in the car as the 6 point bar really stiffened the car up. Do you have any vids of yours launching "Badbelvedere" ? Ron

I have one but its on my facebook account and I do not know how to get it to upload on here. But you race in maryland? I have been there before but never ran my car, I heard it was a very good hooking track. I had a friend race there i during the mopar event he has a 72 charger and his throttle hung on him and he hit the wall on top end because he locked up his brakes. Car is good now though

I usually always hook good at all 3 tracks I have raced my 63 at in Maryland. As long as I line up in the grove it hooks good on the 30 x 9 Hoosier radial slicks I use. I have raced at Cecil , Capital and MIR and my best ets at the tracks are ......... 10.76 @ Cecil , 10.83 @ Capital and 10.85 @ MIR. Course the weather could play enough part to give that slight change in my et's. I also raced once at Maple Grove in PA but I had my old mild 440 in the 63 then as it ran 11.60's that day at Maple Grove in PA and thats about what my average was in Md as the best ever with the old 440 was 11.49 @ 116. To bad we cant see your car launching in the vid as maybe one of us here could help some by seeing the car launch. But I am sure you will get it launching good. Ron

That dart leaves pretty dag on hard man thanks for the video.

Ron the only tracks that I have raced at so far is Virginia motor sports park and northeast dragway in Carolina. But with this new build I have only raced at northeast test n tuning trying to learn how to drive lol. I am going from a high 12 second car to a low 10 kind of a little bit different. But yea I wish I knew how to upload the video on here I dont have a youtube account or anything maybe I should start one.
