Magnum Force or Reilly (RMS) Alterkation Suspension?

Never used any of the Reilly Motorsports stuff, seen a few, they looked nice

I have used a few of the Magnum Force Racing {Ron Jenkins parts} pieces
in the past with good results {They are in Campbell Ca. too, that's a plus IMO}
but I never had either of them in a full suspension kit thou,
I can't really comment from personal experiences,
but had used his spindles & rotors, upper control arms, brakes, pulleys, shocks etc.
But seen quite a few on other peoples cars &
they look really nice, seem to work really well according to others...

Had good luck with the old Capps Automotive stuff too,
now owned by QA1 http://qa1.net/,
I got mine thru Summit best Price
I had a few cars with their tubular suspension & K-members stuff,
I liked them, they fit my budget at that time too, good quality...

even the SPC Performance http://www.spcalignment.com/spc-performance
stuff is good, I got mine from Mancini Racing
but I've only tried the upper control arms from them thou

P-S-T http://www.p-s-t.com/
looks like it has a nice product too, haven't checked them lately
{don't think they made a tubular K-Member thou}

they are all a little different really
depends on far away from stock OE or
how much you have budgeted {big factor for most}
really any of them are a good choice IMO

Ride-tech http://www.ridetech.com
has some nice looking front & rear, bolt in stuff too, coil-over {or air ride}

sorry no direct links, I'm lazy....LOL

I have the magnumforce k member and 4 link.

I am not going to bag out any other product especially RMS or magnumforce as they are both great units.
I did a lot of research and spoke to both companies.
the RMS kit is just standard mild steel box tube (which is no way near as strong as tube) with limited amount of adjustability only benefit I saw was the upper shock mounts connected to the k member.
The Magnumforce tubular one which I have is made out of Chromoly 4130 tube the same as drag cars and race car chassis's. Has heaps of adjustability, looks way better and a lot of people whinge about no upper shock mounts but you can actually add the brackets to stiffen the upper shock mounts anyway. The new magnumforce plate k member is no doubt just as strong or even stronger and already has the upper shock mounts.

one other thing in my researches is a lot of people whinge about the magnumforce unit having failures and this is far from the truth just 1 lie spread big time. there has only been 1 reported failure of the magnumforce unit and it wasn't even magnumforce fault, the failure was on the 'sickcuda' barracuda which he modified the k member to sit lower and it broke a tubular control arm due to the extra stress that it was not designed for.

there is other good kits out there like Hemi denny's, control freak, hotchkis, etc. or you could go the XV fabrications one which is a newer style corvette front end and we know they are good.

If you are going a 4 link rear end I would definetly recommend the ridetech one first then the RMS next, I have the magnumforce 4 link and I think its a great unit but the others are better.

also get the 2" dropped spindles and if you are going 17" or bigger wheels get the 14" discs not the 12" I made this mistake and my discs look tiny in behind my wheels.

overall I prefer the magnumforce front end, but that's just me

They are similarly priced as well, once you do all the add ons for the magnum kit it ends up being a little over 5k the RMS kit is about the same maybe a little less. Funny I stood right next to ROn and his pair of girl friends at show once watching him get an award for his custom cuds LX swap. He is hella skinny lmao and wears cowboy boots to make himself taller lol but he seemed real nice. I have been tossing around putting his kit in my 69 but would hate to have something so hidden be the most pricey and best looking thing on my car! lmao

I went with RMS. XV setup would have been another option for me. But, they were going through some issues at the time I purchased. There has been since another fella that has taken over and is making all the product for them now.

I used a Martz Chassis in mine. But I think Reilly motor sports ,Magnumforce,HemiDenny,MartZ Chassis,Freakride,Qa1,AJE engineering,Hothckiss,VX engineering.
All of these companies are doing what us guys are looking for. Performance suspension. I have a Martz chassis I can say it works great but all of the other companies build great products as well. All comes down to the build and preference.And of course what we can afford at the time.

I have an RMS. other than loosing some turning radius with the rack I am very happy with it. The handling is leaps and bounds over the stock K.
Lots of room for Headers and don't have to lift engine to pull out.

yeh turning radius is lost a little but god damn does the car handle well, it truly is like a rollercoaster, next upgrade you will need is bucket seats so you do not fall out the window on a corner

I don't have one but have looked at them and what I don't like about all of them is the Heim Links they use, to me I just don't see them lasting long and transmitting allot more road noise?? Looking at these 2 I'm not overly confident in the looks of that little arm supporting the coil overs on the RMS unit but feel better about the weld in Transformer that looks like it would do a better job of tying the car together but like I said I don't have one.

Great insite how about some links to those companys?

i first worried about the same thing with the heim joints, my front end and 4 link has heim joints on every connection, i am surprised on how little road noise does come through, i am actually very happy now with the heim joints, i constantly check them and all seem to be holding up very well, i believe if you get a decent brand heim joint you should be okay.
i have the tubular one, but yes that transformer does look very good, the boxed plate would be very sturdy, where as box tube can crush or flex, although there has never been a reported failure with any of these units so they must be built well.

the fully adjustable SPC's UCA's I have, have the poly bushed metal liner insert,
IIRC you can get them either way, poly or hd heim joints...

the LCA's are QA1 with rubber, with Adj. Dynamic strut rods {heim equip}
it's for use with torsion bars & factory style 70 sway bar mounts still too,
not as freed up as heim joints, coil overs set up,
actually can get more lift/weight transfer if you need to, for CalTracs with drag radial/slicks etc.
not really as harsh either,
but it's mostly street driven too, helps absorb some of the harsh ride...

Still worked really well on the last car, it handled like it was on rails
I'm going to stick with it on this car too...
Unless I fall into a bunch of $$$, then who knows...

I may still go with the Ridetech rear links & coil overs,
instead of the Calvert CalTracs

I actually think the big sway bars did more for harsh ride,
than the tubular control arms did, at-least on my last 68 RR & 68 Charger

QA1 K-Member was about $590 IIRC, from Summit racing

It's not as nice as the MFR stuff, but fit my budget then,
I had most all the rest of the stuff on the shelf too...

I didn't care for the square tubing much on the XV or Reilly stuff either...
Just not ideal to me, doesn't mean they won't work just fine...
But knew a couple people that have used them & had no issues too...

looks like a great unti Bud, the ridetech gear is top notch supposedly, i wish i went their 4 link. all the professional pro touring guys use mainly ridetech gear, so it must go alright.

Great insite how about some links to those companys?
You can google any of those companies.
Some pics of what it take to install the Martz Chassis.All the other companies are bolt in application.Still great systems.Easier to install
Due to the horsepower and torque I wanted to do a weld in front system so I went this direction.But saying that does not mean any of the other systems don't handle big horsepower or monster torque they do. This is just the system I wanted to build.I like the challenge and I love to fabricate.

This is the first suspension I built with Firm Feel another good company only they use the factory k frame.It wasn't what I wanted so I sold it to my friend who has a 68 R/T. The car drive really nice with this suspension.

So you need to cut the shock towers out.

I made all the filler panels with 16 gauge steel for strength.

Here is the engine compartment after I did the filler and paint.

The martz Chassis uses a regular tie rod end.

I know this was a generic install display but wanted you guys to see what is involved with this front setup.
Thanks,Joe

I like that!

Nicely Done!! Guys like me can only dream of something like that under there ride. Nice metal work and fabrication>

I went with RMS set-up in my 65 satellite love the look and a very straight forward design witch I love but haven't driven it yet but I'm very confident that I'm gonna love it : )

Looks like I'm going to be ordering up the new Magnum Force double adjustable UCA's in hopes that will be the ticket to get a proper alignment. At the same time I'm thinking hard about grabbing their drop spindles to keep the stance I like but crank the torsion bars back up a bit and keep proper geometry and stiffness. I just need to determine if the front disc conversion that was put on my car will work with the drop spindles.

I also need a new idler arm so it looks like my best source for that is PST

RMS lined up fit in and went together like a work of art. drives and handles like a brand new car. might have to pull out the hotchkis rear and put in the RMS street lynx. just a sweet setup in my opinion.
