got the "go", need the "whoa" front disc conversion

Any recommended front disc conversion kits (as complete as possible)? I have a '67 Belvedere that currently has manual drums all around and 14" front steelies. I am comfortable with manual discs but I am assuming I'm likely going to have to grab some 15" front wheels for most of the kits I've looked at.

Any ones to stay away from, any that stand out for being great?
 
I've been running manual drums from the beginning of time. Just switched over to disc brakes made by Right Stuff - purchased from Summit. I had also switched to 15" wheels some time ago. This is on a 68 GTX. The only problem I had was it took up an extra inch underneath on the back that I didn't have to give. The calipers were a bit wider than the drums. Resolved and am happy with the brakes.

You had clearance issues on the rear GetX'd? I am only planning on doing the front, on my '67 I can't afford to lose any room!
 
I'll be installing Wilwood's on the front of the road runner this weekend. It definitely has way more go than whoa. I only did fronts on my 67 wagon, due to needing every fraction of an inch out back.

with no issues,,,manual disck
 
I would use the larger 11 3/4" rotors, those will require taller caliper brackets also, well worth it for better cooling and more stopping ability. I would also make sure the caliper pistons are steel instead of the composite material.

I had zero clearance issues with the front wells.
 
My car has wilwood all around. Done by the previous owner. They work great now. Entire system Needed some TLC, wasn't done right!

However, I agree with above, call the Ramman, Wayne is the guy to talk to. He will give you the right info whether you buy from him or not. Very knowledgeable!

All slipped right in. Of course went to 15" wheels. Plenty of conversion info out there, with needed parts list.

After seeing how simple this swap was using Right Stuff kit, I'd probably do what Miller says the next time around... The right stuff kit is basically the same thing.

If you do wish a complete kit, I had very good success with the Right Stuff detailing kit... I had to shave a small amount of material off of the dust shield to clear the caliper bolts (or steering knuckle bolts, can't remember), but that was 10 mins with a grinder just to open it up and has zero effect on stoping power.

My 69 RR now stops wayyy better than it did (it was kinda scary before).

I have 15" rims and clearance was not an issue.

I'd love to hear how the Wilwoods go mmissile, looked at them as well. I get ya on the clearance out back on the '67's, I believe drums will be staying there.

I've driven a car with a set of right stuff on it 4 wheel conversion.
I was not impressed with its stopping ability. Not sure if kit was installed correctly or not . But it was horrible I walked away from the car because of how bad it was figuring the parts were installed wrong and there probably would be more incorrectly installed parts .but who knows .
I went with wilwoods on my 72 it's a complete kit haven't installed yet but it looks nice sitting in the box .

Put the Wilwoods on the road runner. It stops a 1000% better, though I haven't hauled it down from high-speed yet. I'm trying to actually seat the parts. LOL
 
DrDiff on my stuff. I like the availability of replacement items even in Podunk USA since his stuff is 03-07 Stang GT based. Nothing is a pisser like waiting for replacement parts to show when you need them most. Of course you could carry your own inventory of pads, rotors, seals, hardware etc etc.
