1969 Roadrunner exterior trim question

She looks like a beautiful loaded RR. And you have one vote from 69roadr. Hang in there others will chime in. Chances are good you're fine. Either way it's a sweet ride.

Just so you know I'm a second owner of a 68 GTX that I've had for 43 years. The vin on mine reads the same as yours with the exception of S for special pricing class and it shows the motor as 440 - 375 hp. Otherwise all the other info is the same. That's a gOod sign too. Mine was built at the Lynch Road plant also. I have options you don't have and you have some things I don't have.

Relax and wait until some other RR people chime in. If you don't get any other hits, repost with something specific to how you can tell if your car is a RR or a clone.

i hope I didn't freak you out - just working with what you gave me. Oh and by the way - Welcome to FBBO!

see, thats the thing..ma mopar would sell you Anything you wanted back then.
green paint,orange seats,white top?
just pay the monies and its yours.

But,to my recollection, tattered as it is,the 68 RR was introed as a Bare Bones Stripper car,Not trimmed out.
so if you have rocker moldings,id highly suspect either the Dealer put them on the car,or it was special ordered that way.

appreciate those 2 fellas replying that they have broadcast sheets,
maybe they could share that code and we can find an option package for 68-69?

in 69,they Did whip out a whole slew of Options for the rr`s,so it gets muddy there.
again,im not saying its not possible, but Very unusual.

just remember, its Real easy to make a clone if you have enough of the rotted remains...
always check all your numbers and check the Metal edges nearby the numbers,
make sure they didnt weld in those pieces.

No rocker trim available on RR's.

M25 sill moldings were standard on Sport Satellite, optional on RR.
O&A report shows they came on ~9.2% of RM21, ~14.3% of RM23 and 12.2% of RM27 cars in '69.

Not common but they are out there.

Vin # rm23h9a112965

Likely scheduled production date of 831. This would be an 'early' car.

FWIW 69 RM23 BS with M25

so they call those rocker moldings - custom sill - sill plates?
i thought the sill plates were what went under the doors inside the cars..not on the body...?
heres another car, showing those moldings and they call them custom sills too.

and ty for posting those Coronet guy, going by that,i was correct, they were Extra cost items.
ie,dealer ordered,or special ordered.

They were just a regular option like A/C, PS, or PB. They're not as common as other options but there's nothing particularly 'special' about them.
