RE: 72 Satellite Sebring Plus 2 speed wiper system--The wiper arm that goes to the wiper motor won't fit down over that rectangular slot under the nut. This should be a 5 minute task, spent over and hour fiddling around and now I wonder if I have to loosen the wiper motor and wiggle it to get things to line up? Don't want to torque down the nut until the arm is secure on that slot. I've tried spinning the motor a few times which seemed to line things up perfectly, but it just won't fit down over the rectangle thing. Weird. Am I missing something here?

I thought I did try it one way and 180 degrees the other way, but the way it was spinning I could have missed the index. Thanks, will try again at first light.

Update:

Marked the round side of the motor stud and the round end of the wiper arm bracket with red nail polish (not mine) so I could match things up (it's kinda dark down there when working in the shade). Finally, with a lot of wiggling, got things back together. Thanks for the tip 72RoadrunnerGTX.

just finished this a month ago. I should also mention to hook up your battery, turn on the wiper motor and turn it off so it goes back to its resting position. The first time I got the damn arm hooked up, I turned it on to try it out, busted the end of the arm right off!:angryfire:

Thanks Dangina for the tip. In my case, the windshield won't be installed until tomorrow, and then the wiper blades after that. I can see a disaster waiting to happen, though.
