Thanks again.. for more "welcomes"..
I am swamped with work these days, but I really enjoy the warm welcome between customers, and I am looking forward to spend more time here! I was supposed to shop Charger parts like crazy this weekend, as the USD/DKK exchange rate is favorable these days, and a "not yet full" container is leaving for Denmark in 10 days, but searching out parts is very time consuming, and I am exhausted after the past week, working 12-16 hours Mon-Sat. But I somehow managed to buy a Six-Pack setup locally, complete minus the air filter housing / case, (which I found for less than 400 USD at Mopar Performance Parts). Some of these has years mentioned in the descriptions, and being a freshly baked Six-Pack owner, I have no idea abt if the years interchange. I hope they do
- But I should probably ask in the proper section.. also, there are some called cold air" and some are not, which I need to figure out too.. but no matter what, it's gonna be fun to upgrade
My beloved Charger is what I think Americans call a "40 footer".. he he, and the interior is "hilariously bad", but it will not be like that forever.. On the good side, it's both mechanically and structurally VERY healthy, with a potent and well built engine, and ready for a well deserved cosmetic makeover.. It does ned a new trunk pan, and maybe a few patches in the rear quarters, and the drivers front fender needs to be "converted" from a 69 to a 68 as it was swapped some time many years ago. Funny, coz the fender is a PERFECT match in color, and fits perfectly gap-wise, and appears to be perfectly matching original WW-1 white paint, while the PS side front fender, which appears to be the original fender, has received a generous spray of "far from correct" white... and thus looks like it was replaced..
Floors are good, and so is everything else... but I am having a hard time figuring out the color. The original paint is bad,, cracked, and the car has numerous dents and scrapes that rules out buffing it back to it's former glory, so it WILL need to be painted. A part of me want to paint it white, as it is the original, but with very fine metallic effect, while another part of me, want's it some sort of "poison mint green", but still can't figure it out, even after 3 years now...
After driving the Charger again a couple of days in this new season (Weather here does not allow fine Mopar's outdoor between November - April), I just love it more and more, to the point where I almost couldn't leave it, after parking it in the driveway. The shapes and proportions of the body are INSANE, and as I said many times before.. I simply don't understand how the other brands sold any cars, when you could stroll right into a Chrysler / Dodge / Plymouth dealer, and get a car THAT beautiful !
Anyways, I gotta get some stuff done, so how abt I just upload a few pic's of the Imp, as so kindly suggested by dla4567, and MOPOWER871.. Most of these pic's are from the seller in Minnesota, as the Imperial has been stored indoor pretty much ever since it arrived here... I have my troubles after 30 years of storage, such as brakes and various rubber issues, but a real beauty.. and I am looking very much forward, to get it back in shape. Just received goodies last week, and I think I only need a few parts, which I can do from local suppliers. I was unable to find the short caliper mounted brake line pieces new anywhere. I will post more pic's later..
I'll look forward to my next visit here.. So long fellow Mopar PPL's :-D
