We were all young at one time. Beach parties,good times. Most of us had a little to much to drink and maybe some of the girls did to. However most knew there was a line drawn and not to cross it. Both of you had a few,your young and things happen. However theres a huge difference in taking advantage of a young woman who is unconscious or so out of it she cant object. This wasn't two kids on that beach after a few beers either. When men or fathers of young men condone this or make excuses we send a clear message to those young men who look up to us for advise and doing the right thing and that young guy wasn't that drunk,thats a bullshit excuse. He dragged her into the woods took her clothes off and violated her. There is no excuse never for what he did. That young lady,she made a mistake,didn't use her head and acted unresponsibly in letting herself get so drunk. The young man did a criminal act
 
My Mother was raped & murdered September 10, 1969....shot through the head, repeatedly stabbed, violated after death......guess i have a Dog in this hunt. I think this also makes a goddamned good case against alchohol being the legal drug. Alchoholic blackout is something i have too much personal experience with, sober 24 yrs now.

I can only make one agree check on this but it feels like an understatement about how I feel.

As for the father of the perp's position on this--He has to live with his own questions.

If parents don't know how to express the importance and value of another's personal space to their kids at least a high (and applied) penalty from the (nanny) justice system should get the message across.

The only up side I see from this story is the publicity and conversation.
 
its interesting where this thread has gone.many are missing the real outrage of this case that needs to be fixed in our justice system.
1)rape is the only crime where the victim is guilty until proven innocent.
2)the rich,white felons are getting very preferential treatment.if you read up on current news on this case,several minority cases have been shown to be virtually identical to this.they all recieved 10 years plus,and there futures are destroyed.
where is the justice in our system now.
making assumptions about situations to make them ok in your own mind just makes me angry as hell.
 
How about the Duke Lacrosse case, there was a case of accusing the
wrong people or total fabrications from a black woman too,
not sure race has anything to do with it here, now wealth & allegiance to a college,
bias that may pertain here...

Plenty of these cases on all sides, go both ways...

How about OJ he wasn't white, he was rich & committed,
than got away with committing murder, because of a bad justice system court setting
TV camera's & lame media & or racial/political involvement, playing the race card,
N-word used prior by an officer, predetermined preconceived "white guilt",
because of comments made/reverse racism etc...

I don't by the race card BS anymore...

I disagree.-- We (as a group) are not missing the real outrage of this case. Many may have moved some from the initial topic but that is the nature of conversation.
The leading point of this case is that this jerk is getting preferential treatment and the primary reason it is in our faces.
He is a young white kid with athletic potential.

i would have to say you either live a very sheltered life,or have no experience with our justice system to think it is not the single most racially bias organization in our gov.please,no offence to you at all.
