I have a 1967 Plymouth belvedere 2. I just installed a fuel injected 360 magnum to replace my old worn carbureted 318. I hooked up my old starter wires from my old motor to the new just to see if it would turn over but nothing happened, I didn't have the computer hooked to the harness at the time so i wouldnt burn it up should it still turn over with out the computer hooked up. I'm confused some say it should fire right up some say I may need to rewire the whole car. Can someone give me some useful advice.

So I should hook it up and then try again I'm not your everyday mechanic I'm learning as I go and still have lots to learn

Why would it fire right up it has no brain hooked up to tell it what to due and no ground for the starter.

What were you trying to accomplish? To see if the starter worked or if the engine would run.

What year? Using the factory harneses? You will also need both wiring diagrams.

You have any electrical knowledge? This will not be a simple plug in operation.

Like I stated you are going to need wireing diagrams for both systems and a good understanding of what is being accomplished. There will not be anything simple.

This is where you are going to need a manual from the Ram. You will need to find the starter relay in the under hood fuse box. You have a starter circuit for the starter then an activation circuit to activate the starter circuit in the relay. The activation circuit grounds through the computer. You will need to figure out which wire this is and ground it to the battery or frame to be able to crank it without the computer being hooked up.

What if I have the computer
