1973 roadrunner, headlight switch dims the running lights when I turn switch with car off. I replaced the switch and noticed the old one didn't have a ground hooked up on the connector on top, I searched everywhere under dash for said ground and nothing. I installed new switch and same thing! Should I just run a ground to that connector? Any have this issue?

Ground is not needed but you could add one. If the dash light dimmer switch is controlling the running lights it sounds like a wiring issue.

Should dim dash lights and not running likes like Pnora said

The original headlight switch did not have a ground spade, later aftermarket switches had them. The switch grounds through its mounting to the cluster frame, was only needed for the switch to control the interior lights, nothing to do with the light functions. Agree, if the dimer control is making running lights come on, it s a wiring issue. The illumination circuit is cross connected to the park light circuit somewhere.
