Feds cannot do it it is a state matter. When I was there, there were a few times the locals spat on us and other times they paid for lunch, Never know what to expect with their government either.

I took advance pay twice, once for one month and two months the second time, and I had to sign an agreement that defined how it would be paid back, and if I remember correctly it was the same deal with the six-month schedule. Are you saying you got an advance and they didn't tell you how it would be paid back? That would be the first I ever heard of that.

They told me that as soon as my pay started, I would get all of my back pay in the first check and also it would start repayment of the advance pay. Then when they started the pay, there was NO backpay - just current pay and the repayment which equaled zero. When I took the advanced pay, they said that it would be paid back first before I received one dime in regular pay. Like I said, it took them over two years to straighten it out and it was all their screw-up to start with. Who ever went on active duty and didn't get paid for their first three months of service? Me, that's who.

I did hear of one Army soldier who lived in the barracks at Ft Dix and never in-processed at Finance. They never started his pay for over a year. Afterward, he asked a friend for a loan. His friend said, what did you do with all your pay because he never saw him buy much of anything. Then the soldier said "you mean we get paid???" His dad had been sending him some money every now and then until times got tough for his family. I don't recall where I heard this story, and what the timeframe it supposedly occurred, but it sure was funny.

Actually, this is incorrect
The National Guard is Federally Controlled (President of the United States)
The "Reserve" is State (Governor of State) controlled
So: Congress has overall say
And Congress stopped the demand for refund

I didn't serve, however seems to me a job offer is a job offer. Only the Government would claim otherwise.

Secretary of defense has suspended collections. An inquiry will take place to determine how the happened and what to do to prevent future occurances from happening.
Yea decided not to punish those who served. Just maybe they'll go after the sucker that started it.
