Trying to figure out what this bracket is used for. It's on the driver's side underneath the battery box. Perhaps added sometime past for some purpose not required now. Can I grind it off?

It's a 68 Superbee

Is this tie down factory?
This is my first Mopar and will be running a 383 4 speed.
Will I use this? And where and how does it get attached?

No, not factory.

For mild street car, not needed. Protects against a broken motor mount due to excessive torque load during hard accel. Attaches to motor mount bolt, probably with a chain or cable.

I would use it just because it's there. Do not think anyone who has ever owned a big block mopar 4-spd will ever compain about it. They will know why it's there.

no, not factory, but added, keep it if you are going to need it if you run a mopar engine, of course if your going to go with a chev motor you will not need it LOL!!! It looks just like the one I put on my 64 40 yrs ago. Dave.
