Post your 10 second combo's

While that is cool, I could build a hell of a nice/quick car for 100,000$

Wednesday night results. Another 2nd place. dialed 10.62 rand 10.63 but, I blew the final round with a bright red light 0.017

Wed night results. 10.62 on a poor preped track. The worst part my motor broke. Not sure yet what happened but it looks like a rod through the block. Sick visual. water and oil on the track.

THAT SUCKS!!! Post carnage photos if you can. Hope crank is ok.

WE FEEL YOUR PAIN !
When I blew up my 440 motor (rod right thru the block) it was the "excuse" I needed to build a new 505" stroker motor.

Ditto! I had been collecting parts for my 505 when the 440 shot craps. It just sped up the process..

Well I got the car in my garage and got a look at the block. One hole near the dipstick. thats as far as I got with it. going to pull the engine in a few days and tear it down. I will have parts for sale soon and I am going to buy a complete new motor. Just not sure yet it may be. I have been talking with a few guys and indy heads. I will keep you all posted as to whats on my list for Christmas and what parts I will be selling. At least this all went down in the final two weeks of the season so no pressure to hurry.

Going to build something just not sure where I want to go with it. As a bracket racer spped is not the issue but it's addicting. I was happy with a 10.5 motor but, it's tempting to kick it up a knotch.

THE NEED FOR SPEED !!!!

I just checked with the Hughes Engines web site and see that the Edelbrock RPM heads can be CNC ported FROM 275cfm, which is out of the box (@600 lift) TO 328cfm (@600 lift).

That work cost about $775 plus about $125 UPS Each way from Cal to Illinois and back...total $250 for both heads out and back.

The Edelbrock MAX WEDGE HEADS (which are the ones that you do NOT have) can be CNC ported TO about 380cfm (@600 lift). They flow 310cfm (@600) out of the box.

INDY SEZ standard port heads (which are the ones that I have) flow 290cfm out of the box.

Sounds great....why not go to 13.5-1 ? also 1.6 rockers ? . Also steel billet main caps.
Like you have the motor listed it is way north of 700HP...probably 775 or so.

yes around 800 hp. the motor is all complete and fresh. I may need to slow it down some.

well you know the faster you go the more exponentially it costs as well wear and tear plus maintenance goes way up .
I finally have my short motor together . 1 round left in track championship and o/seas holiday then motor out in December , service and reuse current heads and sump . I am aiming for 10.50's somewhere . Like you I am a bracket racer so I will leave some HP on the table to maintain reliability , plus I daily drive it around 6-8000mls a year .
