I just received a new separator from mancinis, it looks like the inlet/outlets are 5/16. I have 3/8 fuel line on this (68 satellite, transplanted 440) and I wonder if this will cause a flow problem? The part is for 440 & Hemi 3/8 feed line from the factory..It's no biggy adapt the lines to fit the separator, but I thought I'd check to see if any of you have had issues with this? And yes, I want the return as this car will be mostly drinking crappy CA 91 octane in a hot environment..I'm thinking a slightly smaller line in such a short section shouldn't be a big deal, especially if the factory used them but I always appreciate the advice here..thanks!

440's and hemi's used 5/16" line from the pump to the carb(s) with 1/4" return. i'm sure you can fanaggle a 5/16" hose to a 3/8" metal line or vice-versa. the return orifice on the new separators is too large and the swagging at the fuel nipples needs to be opened up to 1/4".

If you have a separator it tells me your going for a stock setup. If that's the case the 5/16" is fine. 440's from the tank to pump was 5/16 also. 1/4" for return on the entire system. Hemi was supposed to have 3/8" from tank to pump.

I got a separator off eBay about 3 months ago and it was of good quality. I don't think that here's more than one on the market.

Not a stock setup at all(.040 over 440, should be in the neighborhood of 500hp) but considering the area I live in is hot from may to october I don't want to have any vapor lock issues...at this point I may go without it and see how it does...Thanks for the replies

You'll want to read this discussion over on the A12 forum. There are crap separators out there (see 3rd post on pg 1, or picture below). Alternatively, Wix makes separators also with different outlet sizes. See Pg 4 of this discussion.
