NEUROPATHY

Nope the diabetic NONSENSE is enough for me bud!!!! Checkin messages, sorry couldn't resist, yep i am a real one with it, it's bad, period!!!

I have a slight case. Seems to be getting a bit worse over time. I don't have diabetes- what's up?

Yes. I have pernicious anemia and neuropathy is a problem that goes along with it. Pernicious anemia your body doesn't make enough red blood cell. B12 shot once a month. What symptom told me I had
P/A at work my vision was like looking through a straw, then came back. My father had it also
One treatment for Neuropathy was a drug/vitamin called Mentanx (not sure of spelling) bought one prescription it worked for me but stopped insurance didn't cover it. I'm retired and I get around ok but a bad ankle is worse than neuropathy. Hydrocondone fixs it for a few hours. Enough whining.

Yes I have it real bad in my feet.Sometimes you can step on glass and not no it or drop a feather on your feet it hurts like hell. No way to explain it and its hard to sleep at nights as I get these lightning like bolts shooting through my feet. What is your situation ?

A few lighting bolts not many. When I step on say an electrical cord it hurts like hell. Hate to wear shoes, feels like I have clown shoes on , size 24. when I walk for a while and get off my feet, it feels like, what call feet going to sleep and waking them up. Feels like a million ants in my feet.

Yes I have it from a crush injury to my left leg with two knee reconstructions and 13 inches of porneal nerve severed. Working on my love, mopars, helps to keep my mind off of it and the demons at bay. You don't know pain until nerve damage.

Yes from Chemotherapy 15 years ago. I dont feel my feet anymore. I stumble alot. But I raised my kids, my wife till talks to me and I have two Hemi cars. So fuckem.

Google Metanx if you can afford it try it. If it gives you relief then weigh if the cost is worth it. It doesn't work for everybody. It takes about 2 weeks to really tell if it works for you. It did work for me but I'm a glutton for punishment. I have learned to live with it other things hurt worse.

I've never been diagnosed with it but have wondered if that's what I have.... My left heel for the last month or so is pretty numb to all sensations except for a burning/sleep type feeling....also have it in my left index finger but only from the tip to the knuckle and only on the very top...???....
I don't visit the md very often as I really have never had any issues....been wondering about this... Don't know if I want to know...lol!

it creeps up on you.
The Metanx is $60/ 30 days but if I remember at first you take 2 or 3 a day for the first week. It's to built it up in your system.

Ya, I usually don't talk about it but I have hep-c and 10 years ago they decided that I had to be treated, there was nothing wrong with me at the time. The doctors told me I had 5 years to live and if I took pegintron and ribaverin I would be cured in 6 months. Instead I had to quite in 6 weeks because I could not walk, my legs swelled up and they burn like some one has a blowtorch on them. The doctors said it would go away in a few weeks, in a few months, then maybe a year or so but it will go away. All they did was put off the diagnoses of the real problem. After a year I was totally fucked stabbing pains constantly if I sit down the back of my legs burn so I have to stand up then my feet swell up and I have to sit down and prop up my legs. Obama got me medical for free 8 years later I got all the tests and now I take 3200mgs Gabapentin, It takes care of the stabbing pain but still have some of the burning. It's a crime that doctors and layers can do this to a person and get away with it.

My Dad got hit broadside on his Harley years ago. Left knee a mess. Now has neuropathy feet and hands. Didn't know about the two related. It's awful bad. Dexterity and control very important. Scary.

Anyone here have NON DIABETIC NEUROPATHY ?
Its my dad who is dealing with it. He says his feet feel very cold & his feet & up to his nee are numb. One or two of his toes have so much pain in them it brings tears to his eyes. The pain was just at night & now its 24/7. I feel bad for him. His doc says there is nothing he can do. I say BS

Try metanx but it costs $60 a month script plan may not cover but could try. Google it. I used it but mine is not painful enough to spend the money but going to recheck if my Medicare will cover.

I use Gabapentin and there is no side affects and it works good for me.

Yes the million ants and tingling is a constant for me to. I did go through an extended dose of Gabapentin but it did nothing for me.I cant wait to kick my shoes off at the end of the day if I can make it that far.I usually wear no socks or shoes indoors year round which helps but I think its mostly trying to get your mind off it and learning to live with it.I once trimmed a toenail to short in the dark Dah! and it bleed all over and I never new about it.They say it is a slow moving disease of the nerves and usually starts at the extremities like toes or fingers and starts to move inward.Wearing special socks can help stop the feet from swelling so bad but sometimes the best relief is to fill a bucket of ice water and drop them in there and ahh that feels good. I feel for you my Mopar Brother!

How long have you been on it Brian ? I have been taking nine hundred mg for almost three years, for my nephropathy. My doc now wants me off it, and go to a pain specialists that teaches you how to deal with pain without drugs. My pain stated in the arch of my left foot, the progressed to my right arch, then left, into my toes. I can't feel cold, but at the same time my feet are cold all the time. The worst part is the periodic cramping on left foot toes. They bend upwards higher than you can only imagine. The pain is hard to take, but it only lasts for seconds. Like other have said, the doctor can't do anything for me. And no, I don't have sugar. You may want to check into what Gabapentin does to the system, if you take it to long.
