After building 5 cars from various stages I don't consider myself a pro, I am an auto enthusiast and have never been afraid to try something new. I feel like an amateur, compared to what I see being built on this site. But I'm going to do my best, and I will make some mistakes , do things twice , and make some people scratch their head . That's okay. So here it goes . My 17 yr old son and I talked about doing a Superbird re-creation on a road trip and so I started my research on what that would Take to do. After looking at parts availability & costs , I actually put the idea aside as the task looked too huge , after all, I wanted a Hemi and that was not going to be cheap. One day in the fall of 2015, I went to a local bike shop In Spruce Grove Canada ,where the owner was a business client of mine. We got talking about car projects that never got finished . He indicated he had one, a 1970 Sport Satellite , with a Hemi ! He said he was going to do a Roadrunner clone. I perked right up , and I asked if he'd sell it, as my son and I wanted to do a superbird project. We quickly went and looked the car that day and we agreed on the price and deal was done.

Here is the Hemi that came with the car! Too bad it was not a numbers matching block for the year. It was an after market block that was frozen at one point

After the media blasting, found out the rockers were good, doors were great , quarters needed to be done along with trunk floor and passenger floor pan. Front fenders & hood were sold to make way for the coronet front fenders and hood for the Superbird.

So once we decided not to use the Hemi the hunt was on for a new power plant. After a great trip to The Good Guys Northwest Nationals , with a little help from my friends , it was decided not to make a clone , but to make a custom instead. The idea of the Super Venom (Bird) came about . SO I scoured the web and found Clevland Power and Performance. Who had this amazing Gen 3 Viper engine from a 2005 Viper with 11,000 miles, with Tremec 6 speed trans, complete harness, gauges, pedals, steering column & fuel tank , all running on a pallet . So I calculated all the parts I could sell including The Hemi, and then sold what I had to buy the V10 Viper engine delivered to my door.

Cool. See you've been here a while but these are your first posts. Nice way to start out! Welcome from Southern Alberta. I'll be watching this one.
Ya, it took me a while to get comfortable with the direction and then the whole forum thing .

Next step was obtaining the superbird specific parts. After researching Janek, used parts, forums , I found a Canadian supplier on Vancouver Island . I got most everything I needed in the 12 weeks as promised. Including fiberglass nose, fenders, fender scoops, wing supports. Metal window plug, aluminium wing, z brackets. Just waiting for headlight buckets and latch tray .

While I was waiting for the parts I was also able to locate a complete 1970 coronet superbee. So I now have a choice of steel fenders and hood or the Fiberglas. I sold the rest of the Superbee.

This is a great project and something I could only dream of doing. I like this build and where you are headed. Please keep us regularly posted on your updates.

Good to know- Any body heard of "Snake Bite"?
That is commonly not served in British Pubs due to the behaviour of patrons after drinking a few

Snakebite is half pint of Lager mixed with half pint of Cider.....very dangerous drink. It creeps up on you and WALLOP!:D
