What do you guys think? Besides leaky the valve covers..

Plugs are autolite 85s. I also forgot I had my ridiculous rich at idle edlebrock with these plugs before I put a QuickFuel on.

Now I'm old, we were taught that slight brown color meaning is everything is ok.Today's fuels white, lean, sooty too rich.My 2 cents. Looks good to me.

X2. Thats what the picture in the back of all my haynes manuals says.

Look OK to me as well. They don't even look like they need changing.

Issue being is the plug will only really show you what was going on before the engine was shut down. Yes the plugs look fine....but how could you read the plug if you're lean or rich at wot if you've driven part throttle for 1hr afterwards then idled?

With a new carb, cam and torque converter, I'm using the same guidelines that HEMI-ITIS posted. For WOT you need to cut away the threaded section.

With the right light and the the periscope like the Doc looks in your ear,you can see the ring.
I have taken sooty plugs and made a pass, and then was able to read the plug!!
